Barry Obama's gaffe is not going away anytime quick and, as some journalists have noted, the "bitter" part that Sen. Clinton is harping on is the least of it. This is just the type of thing that J. Francois Kerry would say, letting all the fly-over people know just where he stood. It's not surprising that Hugh Hewitt condemns his broader remarks but having Mickey Kaus and Slate magazine on your six as well isn't a good sign. Now most of us fly-over types are pretty sure that Madame Clinton feels much the same way, especially after spending all those years in Arkansas in supporting Bill's career-we see how quickly she fled back there to run for office, but that's not the problem. The problem is the A-6 pilot. For whatever J-Mac's weaknesses, and there are many, the American people do not regard him as elitist or uncomfortable with the common man (if chris gee ever get's around to defining that person for us righties). J-Mac has every reason in the world to be bitter at the Vietnamese, yet is not in the least. And guess what? The rest of America is hardly bitter either. Most of us are pretty damn happy overall and you can ascribe alot of that to our actual belief in our religion as well as the fact that we live in one of the most wonderful of countries that happens to also be a natural wonder complete with a nature full of hunting opportunities that we can take full advantage of because we're able to make a living that allows us the time and money to do so. Some of us po' bitter peeps even sail boats!

I should be getting interest on that 100 bucks!

Is this perhaps the unraveling of the Obama campaign? Were he now the nominee I, for one, would think that he could overcome the events of last Friday's news. But he is engaged in a titanic struggle with perhaps the most ruthless political machine we've seen in some time. Worse, the canidate of change and hope has revealed himself to be the same old-same old when it comes to the liberal Democrats. "There they go again", treating the poor little fly-over people like wards of the state again. People can only take so much of being told how they think and feel by complete strangers with a misguided sense of paternalism before they start to figure out that it's all about those Democrats desire to be in power so they can implement what they feel is best for those little people. The little people have the quaint notion that they themselves know what's best for themselves and rather than being bitter about it they thank God for it. Odd.

Apparently the New Republic, a liberal mainstay of long standing, thinks that Obama has really stepped in it, electorally speaking. It's quite possible that Madame Clinton can pretty well run the table, especially in the midwestern states remaining. And while she may only be tied or near tied in the end, she will have a strong case to make for Obama's fade and unelectability. TNR explains it rather well. Woe Is He

keep dreaming repubs! you are outnumbered. how is it, do you think, that so many more people agree with the liberals than with you guys? Gallup last had Bush at 28% approval. Nixon was only a couple of points lower than that at the end.
