It's basically all over but the voting. All the distraction for the past year has been on these Democrats stabbing each other in the back. The republicans haven't even had to break a sweat, just watching until they know which one survives.

E-mail from Holland:

"We in Holland cannot figure out why you are even
bothering to hold an election.

On one side, you have a bitch who is a lawyer, married to a lawyer,

and a lawyer who is married to a bitch who is a lawyer.

On the other side, you have a true war hero married to a woman with a huge chest who owns a beer distributorship.

Is there a contest here? "

I can understand why he left politics...but we sure could use him back. I was hoping for a Fred/JC ticket way back when...but McCain could do worse than to reach out and get this guy on the ticket!!

I think people way overestimate the importance of VP candidates. Its the top guy who counts for the election - the VP only really matters to pull the party together. On the other hand, McCain could well drop dead at any moment given his age so he better pick somebody who could actually do a good job as Prez -

Nah, Obama is going to choose some dude named J. Wright. Should be good, I hear he's a pastor so he'll bring in the republican right wing conservative evangelical vote.

No. Dick Cheney only gets chosen by Dick Cheney. If anybody else is making the choice it wont be him.

Hey chuck, maybe we can get mr. J Wright to post on Sailnet! Then we can have a left wing nut case to balance out the right wing nut cases who are already here! Just think ... Sailaway vs. J. Wright!! I would even pay money to watch!

On the other hand, I am not sure WHAT kind of nutcase Wright is. Ex-marine paranoid wacko? I dont know. He sure seems to be enjoying his 15 minutes of fame though.
