Holy cow! Making the Fire Department participate in any kind of parade, especially a politically controversial one is wrong in every way. I don't have much hope for California. Yes, it was the court that over ruled the will of the people but that means there are enough people there to empower those judges. Liberalism is like cancer. For us it's a small melanoma in Austin. In California it's terminal.
Fire fighters are public employees; not some mythical force. If the job description fits you do as told, if it is out side the job description you holler at your union representative, call in sick or seek employment elsewhere. I'm betting supporing parades is part of the duty irregardless of political controversy.
