Not to change the subject, but you are right, those really are terrible commercials, I chuckled at it the first time one of them came on. There have been a lot of really terrible commercials lately, even what I consider anti-commercials because they are so bad I actually remember not to buy the product on principle, so bad that when I see the product all I can do is remember the terrible commercial like a bad odor in the air.

Edit - like that commercial they keep running for Gold card where the guy pulls out his super hero credit card and the snotty European types say a bunch of passive aggressive crap and then walk off and he gets trumped with a Gold card from his all knowing business partner. I mean that commercial is so bad it makes me want to start carrying cash to pay for my lunches.

American cars are well behind the imports in fuel effecentcy but instead of concentrating its efforts on getting better cars on the market NOW. They'going to try and fool the public into thinking they're cars are efficent. Same for the democrats. Instead of taking a look at the whats going on in the world today, from globalization to health care, from radical extremism to moral issue brought up by modern technology, they're just going to put on the PR spin.
Are you saying that my worthless, unreliable, and rusting F-150 is a Democrat also? Does this mean that some morning I'm going to go out there and instead of seeing the usual collection of maple seedlings trying to take root in the bed I'm going to find that bed full of poofters, socialists, aging hippies, anti-war ostriches, and a confused looking UAW worker? Damn! I can't have that. I live in a respectable community. Good thing I bought that pressure washer, I think if I get the muck out they'll be unable to take root. I'm going to miss the baby trees though, I'm a sucker for babies and kids.

Washington Post says Obama and campaign hypocritical

Even the WaPo cannot stomache the blatant hypocrisy of Senator Obama's prior pronouncements yea, even legislation, in the area of campaign finance with the reality of the messianic Senator's campaign.

Though liberals do have a candidate who adheres to their positions, I find it unlikely, that many will fall in with Ralphie. Rather, they will swallow their misgivings about Barry's loyalty to the cause, and continue to support him as he waffles all over the map on what he stands for. And what he stands for, as near as I can tell, is that he should be President. That appears to be the only constant in the ever changing world of Obamamania.

Thus, we have, in an electoral climate wholly favorable to the Democrats, a race which is basically a dead heat at this point. This, in spite of the Dems fielding their most articulate candidate since JFK. While the GOP puts up their least inspiring candidate in memory.

It would seem, at this point, that whomever unveils the superior "October Surprise" will be the likely winner come November. I find myself in a rare state of agreement with Robert Redford and his statement that if the Dems lose this time, they are through as a party.

Evidently, Mr Obama has found it one should be careful what one wishes for. After spending a year telling people to believe in him and his "Audacity of Hope", he is apparently having second thoughts.

"He is very conscious of it. He knows he has become a vehicle for peoples' hopes and dreams and expectations and we all fear that such expectations tend to be unrealistic." Greg Craig, Obama foreign policy advisor.

I agree with this, if Democrats can't win this election with ease then there's a serious problem. They're really running with the wind this time around whereas Republicans are beating into it. I cannot imagine more favorable conditions for a Democratic win.

This year taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that will be explained using the Q and A format: Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
A. It is money that the federal government sends to taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?
A. Shut up.
