jindal would be an interesting pick for the ethnicity issue alone---an indian/ American on the rep. ticket? a former hindu who converted to catholicism? real first name is Piyush. that will go over with the repub base, right?
hey the country has a real battle aheadfor pres. the dems will add sets in both houses, so even if mccain wins he has a long 4 years ahead of him. as does the country of course.

Probably one of the many interesting things about Jindal is he has actually worked for a living and has realistic expectations based on a through survey of the situations with which he deals. BO on the other hand has some fantastic, idealistic, naive speach writers who unfortunately cannot answer the questions tossed at their canidate in an open forum.

I believe most of the Rep. party voters and truly Independent voters care less about race or ethnicity than the dem. party member or leaning voter - especially the tripe I have read - and since reading to which I will no likely return (the vine on msn or newsweek). Most thoughtful -my observation-people do not have concerns about the color of one's skin or ethnicity as a qualifier or a disqualifier. Now there are some that believe it the reason for all things relative. Gen. Powell would most likely garner a great deal of support is he was a canidate for office and not because of his heredity.

Probably one of the many interesting things about Jindal is he has actually worked for a living and has realistic expectations and direction based on a through survey of the situations with which he deals and the solutions he has determined to handle those problems.

BO on the other hand has some fantastic, idealistic, naive speach writers who unfortunately cannot answer the questions tossed at their canidate in an open forum.

Just because you dont agree with my reasons doesnt mean I dont have them. Here are a few. McCain stands foursquare with Bush on almost all issues as far as I can tell. Bush's administration (or should we call it Cheney's?) has been the most corrupt, dishonest and from a policy point of view, disastrous on a historical scale that we have ever had. You may not agree with any of that, so if you think the last 8 years have been so great, then go vote for McCain!!!!
Thanks sck5 for your reasons. Sounds like we're both in the same boat as we're both voting against a candidate, although we'll be cancelling each other out this year. I hope you're wrong about the outcome.

Why is it,

When asked why someone thinks Obama is qualified to be C in C the best they can come up with is a bash on Bush, and ignore the question of Obamas qualifications all together

Unfortunately, for a bunch on the left, this race isn't between McCain and Obama, it's between Bush and Obama. That's the burden McCain is stuck with whether he is a better choice for the country or not.

When a candidacy is built on emotion, rather than reason, it's quite difficult to articulate why one supports it.

I have a question - but don't any of you find it abnormal that already approaching Aug - no Vice Prez candidates are being announced? Who they choose will be the deciding factor I think in the end because both of the actual for Prez candidates are as flaky as you can get. Perhaps, (and most likely I am wrong) but isn't this the latest we have seen the vice candidates announced?
