Do common folks really make up their own minds and decide that in particular Obama's change is not what they want?

The tide and the wind changes frequently my friends, generally it all evens out in the end. Obie boy was and is just a little to left of common sense to make it, said so months ago, say so still. He can capture the hearts, but not the minds - and people vote with their mind.

Totally agree Chuckles, the problem is those that vote that are mindless. Just kind of follow along, and those that are dead but still vote, and those that are illegal, and those that vote in two states and ...and...

Well if you think Obama is too left of common sense to make it, answer me this

How many houses does John McCain have?

Some say 4 (his campaign)
Some say 7 (Obama)
Some say 8 or 9 (his wife Cindy)

Some are approaching senility and cant remember (or are they are lying about not remembering?)

Hey great idea to vote for yet another rich pampered out of touch trigger happy Republican into the White House. I would be extremely bummed because if McCain is right I have to make $5 million a year before I can consider myself rich! And here I thought a mere 380k would do the trick since that would put you into the top 1% of the country. Silly me.

I feel like in this election, whomever I vote for, I lose. McCain married money and in many ways is a kept man and that is the reason, he doesn't know how many houses he has. She simply never told him .........

I feel quite comfortable knowing McCains hand will be on the trigger. At least he won't have some debate or consult some poll before deciding on which weapon to use.

cardiac

You are right. McCain sounds like he will just shoot. But I am stumped trying to figure if that is better or worse than letting Dick Cheney decide which seems to be how it is done at the moment.

By the way, what is wrong with having some discussion before doing things like, say, taking the country into a war? Sure the prez is supposed to decide but it seems like it might be nice if he solicited opinions from, say, the Cabinet and the military and the guys in Congress dont you think? It might even be possible that one of them thought of something useful that didnt occur to the Prez all by himself.

And apart from that we DO still have a democracy. What the people think ought to matter on some level.

"maybe we could ask lesko how many houses obama owns."

That would be 1. And he seems to be able to remember.

You guys arent going to win a debate on houses. McCain provides a quite target rich environment. Here is another - McCain thinks the economy is doing "quite well" at the same time record numbers of people are losing their homes to foreclosure.

I think McCain's people are even now trying to figure out some way to distract attention from houses - they know this isnt good for him - I wonder what they will come up with?

Hey, Obama, have you ever taken a stand on any issue?
Oh, wait, have you ever NOT taken a stand on either side of an issue?

I'd still rather go hunting with Cheney than have Ted drive me home.

Lets just agree to disagree, I'm not going to change your mind, and you're not going to change mine. Our votes can cancel each others out unless you plan on voting chicago style.
