I'm stilling tossing it about. At this time, I'm leaning towards Fred Thompson, even though he's not announced yet. I'm looking at Romney also.

On the Democrat side ya gotta wonder what Bill Richardson has to do to get noticed. Unlike the other Dem canidates, the man actually has a resume. But, for those who reflexively vote Democrat, You simply must give Dennis Kuchinich a look. Since none of the other canidates have any ideas, other than bombing Pakistan for effect, why not vote for the one that will make you laugh. Think of the United States as one big Cleveland, without the baseball team! Mr. K. is the revival of the Alfred E. Newman for President campaign. "What, me worry?"

I think the candidates will be Hillary vs. Guiliani.
I favor Thompson and he can beat Guiliani in the primaries if he gets in early next month and doesn't do anything stupid. His big + among Republicans is that is is Conservative AND can SPEAK like Reagan. Guiliani on the other hand is probably the more electable of the two vs. Hillary as he can bring the moderates on board and the republican faithful will vote for anyone but Hillary.
Lots of time yet for scandals and foot in mouth disease but thats the way it looks to me tonight.

It is also interesting to speculate about possible VP's.
The catchy one right now seems to be Hillary/Obama

I'll go with Thompson and Clinton.
I think she'll avoid debates like the plague 'cuz she doesn't want to be put on the spot, or have her positions challenged.

Interesting, Thanks guys. Although I'd like to study their policies more thoroughly, for the moment I'm favouring Richardson v Paul. As previously mentioned Paul was impressive on the Colbert Report and Richardson the same on the Daily Show. All of which means that neither are electable but then backing losers is a very BHL thing to do. Even when a leftie wins I've usually disagreed with them, a'la Blair in the UK.

Still think that Gore would do it for the Dems but everything I say on this subject is from an outsiders point of view.

Her fuddling the other night on the subject of lobbyists did not look good. 12 months ago I thought she was a goer but not now I feel.

Of course you mob need to remember that from an international perspective Bill Clinton was well liked.

TDW,
If you are interested in some of Dr. Pauls policies check out this video. It explains why the federal reserve is unconstitutional and why he raised his hand when asked if he would like to abolish the fed. And for those of you that don't know, the Colbert hand raising thing was a jab at how friggin' rediculous "debates" have become.
Wolf Shitzer, "Raise your hand if you think the president is doing a good job." WTF WTF WTF!!!

Anyway, the video explains how the Fed is unconstitutionally given the right to print money, and how that money printing is being abused at incredible rates (inflation results). It even explains that the federal reserve is NOT a government entity, which is something that most people don't even know.
The video is a little long, but well worth the time if you are at all concerned with the fact that a dollar isn't worth a dollar anymore (middle class errosion), and why that is.

No cigar eh ?

I was meaning that Bill's international popularity has tended to rub off on Hillary so many people outside the US would be happy to have another Clinton in the White House.

Despite the fact that I quite liked Bill as President and thought that Hillary might well follow on I've come to find her quite unsettling. Yea Verily she doth scare the crap out of me.

Interesting point, what is it about successful women politicians ? Thatcher in the UK, Indira Ghandi in India, Hillary and Rice in the US, Downer in Australia. Frightening , the lot of them.

The white teeth and fake tan are bit of a worry but I saw an interview with Joe Biden last evening and he came across pretty well. I know bugger all about the guy other than that plagiarism business from a few years back and that he is pro Iraq war.

Thoughts people ?

Where'd you get the idea Joe Biden was pro war?

He's slick as an eel, and I don't mean that positively.
