All I see on the librarian issue are blogs and supposed independent journalist that have ads for Barak's book on the same page.

Smear crap with a little truth and innuendo and it's still crap.

The only 'article' that has a few facts not covered with the word 'alleged' :
Palin pressured Wasilla librarian: Gov. Sarah Palin | adn.com

Note she was not fired, she was sent a letter of intent, and no books were banned. The librarian did actively support Palin's opponent in both her elections as mayor - and as a city employee that was wrong they are supposed to be neutral in public one would think.

I hear Time and NewsWeak picked it up, but can't find it.

Having said that, politics and politicians should stay out of our library. The idea of censoring is just repugnant to me.

A couple of things to ponder:

1) Ignore most polling, especially those polling "Likely Voters". Such polls ignore two significant groups....those who have recently registered and those with only cell phones (read mostly young voters).....both groups would likely lean towards Obama.

2) McCain, should he be elected, would have a very difficult (if not impossible) task getting many of his proposals through a congress certain to be even more democratic-leaning than it already is.

a very, very good link

SCK, and all you liberals out there - I will refuse to talk tax policy with you until you read and refute the FACTS in that link.

I don't even care if it's a conservative web site.

You want to talk about your grandkids paying for Bush? You and them are both paying for Pelosi and Reid.

Well Steve, seems I brought up an issue, and instead of responding to it, you chose to sidestep it. I'm more than interested in someone showing me how increasing the size and scope of government will lead to a balanced budget. I don't dispute that the previous GOP controlled Congress went on a spending spree. But after 2 years of Dem control, the spree continues.

Now, if you believe we need more government in our lives, and don't mind paying for it, by all means, vote for Obama. All he is offering are the same old big government spending practices that the left has been pushing for years. We have a deficit due to spending, not a lack of revenue.

I knew I'd been in this in a previous life.

When I'd ask TheCubans 15 year old a pointed, direct, yes or no answer type of question, invariably, she'd respond with another question, or, depending on the "importance" of the question, answer with some remark unrelated to the subject at hand.

Needless to say, those types of responses didn't last too long.
I'd patiently wait until she was done, then, ask the question again.

Long story short, she moved back into pops house. I was a "hardass".

Again, it was a hollow issue that could be argued on either side, hence the lack of response to it.

Hollow? So record means nothing? We are to disregard what they have done till now and accept that they will act differently? That's not a lack of response, that avoidance.
