Maybe it's because he's talking about where we go from here, instead of complaining that we're there?

I might just not get it but I suspect that I'm correct in that this whole "Bush lied" and how we got into Iraq just isn't gonna fly with the voters. I think that most voters think that the way we got into Iraq was honorable, if mistaken. And I also think that what they most object to is losing lives in a war that we're either losing or not winning. Since we are now demonstrably winning the war I think most voters are much more comfortable with the situation.
Obama claims that al-Qaeda is active in 60 countries, including the Caribbean....I'd like to see those numbers. Perhaps he's including Gitmo! His claim that al-Qaeda is resurgent rings untrue. We've been killing them as fast as they can export their leaders to Iraq. and as long as they're bottled up in the mountains of Pakistan and Afghanistan I hardly see how that constitutes either a resurgence nor much of a threat.
I have a sneaking suspicion that, were bin Laden dead tomorrow, Obama would be pronouncing our work in Afghanistan done. (And, perversely perhaps, I'd be inclined to agree, although for different reasons I'm sure.)
Obama alludes to this worldwide al-Qaeda presence as if he'd land the Marines to wipe out their Costa Rican windsurfer rental operation. He just doesn't get that al-Qaeda made Iraq far more important than just removing Saddam. I'm betting that the American people see it that way also.
I do agree with Sawy..McCain seems ready and prepared to govern, has more dynamics..
Obama is the difference..less prepared less balast, but he represents a change to the current gov. so I leave this debate with prettu much what I entered...
The way I see it..Obama started stronger, but McCain finished stronger.
I'd call it a draw, really
a)McCain has an impressive foreign experience, and wins here
b)Obama defended his ideals very very well, seemed very prepared, and his economical strategy seems better (to me)
c) McCain has more experience and technique
d) Obama is the power of change, the different approach to an used old policy
to me..both failed in being convincing, and none was able to get the guy at home that doesn't know if he is going to sleep in the couch or in the bed...
