I do not have an "original" birth certificate. My mother conveniently misplaced it when I was a kid--because she didn't want my father to know she actually was 5 years older than he was and not just 2 years as she had previously led him to believe. To get a passport years ago I had to write to the Commonwealth of Virginia Bureau of Vital Statistics for a certified copy. Pay your money and they send it to you. Looks plenty official even though it is not an "original". BTW, none of us knew my mother's real age until she died from breast cancer in 1992 at the age of 70 --we all thought she was 67. When my father found out her real date of birth, he laughed.

I rarely check this thread anymore because of tangents like this. People love to believe in conspiracy theories. Aren't there more important things to focus on? Hell, McCain was born in Panama for Pete's sake

Seems not all the rich need tax hikes:

A tax break for movie and television producers who agree to film their shows in the United States – a part of the $700 billion economic stabilization package signed into law by President Bush on Oct. 3 – will cost taxpayers $470 million over the next 10 years, according to an Oct. 1 report published by the Joint Committee on Taxation.

The tax cut, designed to entice Hollywood and TV producers to shoot their films domestically, will cost taxpayers $358 million in 2009 and $470 million by 2018, the report states.

Described in the financial bailout bill as an “expansion and extension” of a nearly identical provision in a 2004 law, the revision now allows producers to write off $15 million in production costs on any movie they produce and slashes a restriction in the 2004 law that excluded films with budgets of over $15 million.

The current legislation would also allow filmmakers filming in the United States to qualify for a tax deduction, capping the top tax rate at 32 percent instead of 35 percent.

Thank god Hollywood won't be affected by Obama tax hikes. I shudder to think about how dreadful it would be if their parade of sewage got slowed down.

Wasn't someone on here the other day saying the SOLDIERS supported Obama? That sounded off to me and low and behold...nothing could be further from the truth.

I love how you Bush haters keep trying to lay the blame off on anyone but the Democrats. Apparently you haven't been paying attention. Jimmy Carter created the law that was used to make this mess. Clinton's head of HUD used this law to find that banks were rejecting too many mortgage applications from poor people who could not pay them back. Many of these applications were from black people, so he called it discrimination. He forced the banks to make loans to these unqualified people, and admitted in the press conference that the rate of default would rise as a result. Other followed suit to avoid government action against them.

Since the democrats are currently in charge, the hearing date for discovery on who caused this mess is set for after the election. How's that for a conspiracy theory?
