That works because a lot of voters are pissed off at the rich people and the rich people never vote for Dems anyway. It isnt really a very different strategy than what the repubs have always done. Its just modified a bit for the Dem electorate as opposed to the republican electorate.
That's about as twisted as it gets SCK.

Republican's are promising a 'fair' er tax, spreading the burden equally. I don't mind so much paying a higher percentage, I do mind paying at a rate that a creditor can't even lend money at without violating federal law. That's where it stands now. I'm not rich, I paid more in taxes than the top two of my kids made last year, and they own their own homes and make a above median level of income. That's obscene in my book.

Democrats are promising a redistributive tax, taking the burden off of even more american's and giving them some of mine, so long as government controls how much to whom.

That's fine if for my 95% of the tax burden I get 95% of the vote. I'm not even currently in that upper 5%, but HOPE to be, he just takes the HOPE away. Now I'm afraid to ask for a pay raise or except a cost of living increase.

American was founded on the principal of hard work and a fair chance to make you own way - not Uncle Sam standing in for Robin Hood robbing hard working normal people and giving the money out for rent subsidies and child support subsidies (look at his plan, we'll be paying tax credits for child support, not just child care).

Even if Robin Hood like redistribution of wealth is considered admirable, let's remember guys like me who go to work, do a highly skilled job all day and make more - are not the Sheriff of Nottingham. We used to be hero's, now we are targets.

I've decided I don't like the game, so I'm not playing any more, I'm know I'm not alone. All I have to do is take 3-4 months of the year off and Obama is screwed. I'd be happy to do that.

Not a chance Paul, I'm one more heart attack away from being in your shoes. I'm holding mine for when, not if that happens.

First, let's deconstruct the famous "tax cut for 95%". Sorry, doesn't exist. at best, it's for 81% of working families. What it is, is rebates, credits, and subsidies, not a tax cut. The rates will not change, Uncle Sam will just GIVE you money. I will pay the same rate this year, as I paid last year. Tell me how I get a tax CUT.

Like most everything else, it's all smoke and mirrors.

Obama=empty suit. If he gets elected, welcome back to the Jimmy Carter days only worse. That was fun. I can't wait.

Sorry PB, you won't pay the same as you did last year. You won't get a tax cut either. Obama has said he will not renew the Bush Tax cuts. So you will have to pay more.

I agree the media should be investigating Frank and Dodd alot more and I think they are huge culprits but the media is just human afterall....They are a small part of the population but they tend to be well-educated and informed...at least more so than the general population. Being more educated they recognize that Obama has a better intellectual grasp of things than McCain. Like everyone else, they are scared and see the country is in the toilet right now so they don't want to report on stories that would reflect badly on the 'Saviour" party right now. It's all very rational though a regrettably a bit Darwinian. The media just wants a competent person in the WH like the rest of us if you ask me and so their survival instincts are more powerful than any motivations to be "fair and balanced" right now.
