You just have to love the unbiased, thoughtful media we have today:
CNN Electoral Map Calculator - Election Center 2008 from CNN.com

"The electoral map is based on several factors including polling voting trends and ad spending."

Apparently ad spending is as good as a vote in the box.

The media's biggest concern is that mythical undecided voter who is either abysmally ignorant or just plain dumb. Their glitzy graphics are just that - glitz. I think the problem is that when you pick reporters for looking good you probably arent getting the smartest or best informed ones.

rick if that washington post chart is right ( the post leans left ) then its saying that the part of tax payers who make up to 37595 will get a small tax cut under mccain, depending on how many children they have they dont really have a tax burden now.under obama the one who make less than 18981 will get back 567 bucks and they dont have a tax burden any way its giving them money they did not earn.

as for the arguments that the rich dont need tax cuts, what you need to realize is that over a certain income they loose lots of tax breaks that others get, things like deductions for improving the energy efficiency of their houses

i used to know a very rich man who ran a mortgage broker who made almost a mil between him and his wife, they paid almost 70 % of their income in taxes. because they could not deduct things like electric bills their office paid, improvements made to their their rental houses etc. imagine paying 70 cents of every dollar you made in taxes. hell i work for 3 months a year for free, just to cover my tax burden

As scotty indicated, percentages and tax rates aren't the whole picture - and why Nobama likes to obfuscate the facts.

When you look at the whole picture (over 160k, no Roth IRA for you, doesn't pay to be green, can't deduct school loans etc) and include the excluded deductions even the MIDDLE CLASS can't take at moderate levels then you get the real numbers.

It's not a tax increase if you take away a tax cut, right demmies?

According to the IRS the fact is 32 % of working american's don't pay ANY federal taxes now, 16% get rebates having not paid anything in

fact is under the Obama plan 1.13 million Americans would pay more in all federal taxes than 128 million of their fellow citizens combined.

You see, it's not just money, it's people - and that's right, every rich person CARRIES the burden for more than 128 others.

Fact is 5% of american's carry 60% of the burden now.

You folks that want to pay more, send in more. Keep your hands out of my pockets, or I take my pockets elsewhere.

That doesn't sound like United States of America to me, that sounds like the Socialist State of Obama.

hey chuck here is a great idea take that extra money the 16 % get and put it straight to the deficit.

here in maryland a welfare case would have to make over 2000 per month take home to have the same standard of living, or less than a 1000 less than me.

lets see per month
1000 for a 2 bedroom apt
500 to 600 a month in cash and food stamps
free electric 150 to 250
free health care that costs me 400 a month

this is all after tax income, ie spendable money for me why should i go to work for 40 hours a week and work my ass off for less than 250 a week difference.

sck5 what do you bring home a week after taxes? and if you make more than 250 a week more than me i an entitled that you split the difference with me, its only fair. and i would think i might work harder than you, i am a master electrician, what do you do ?

Like everyone else, they are scared and see the country is in the toilet right now so they don't want to report on stories that would reflect badly on the 'Saviour" party right now. It's all very rational though a regrettably a bit Darwinian. The media just wants a competent person in the WH like the rest of us if you ask me and so their survival instincts are more powerful than any motivations to be "fair and balanced" right now.
If I could fit this in my signature with the daffy-definition of "liberal arrogance" in front of it I would. We should of course all defer to our betters such as the media. Heck, I'm going to give up thinking for myself entirely...seems I've got others that'll do it for me and better. WHAT ARE YOU, NUTS? (g) "Intellectual grasp on things"????? GRASP THIS! (hehe)

Why does someone who makes 18,981$us/year need a 5.5% tax break, do they even PAY taxes ? What's the cut off, anybody know ? Edit -- I checked this out, it looks like even the lowest income brackets pay 10% tax. I actually didn't know that, I thought there was like a low cutoff where people making below a certain amount just didn't pay taxes.

This is indeed bigger than Joe the Plumber; there's no misunderstanding this one. Thanks for the link, Toto!! I heard the same clip on the mainstream radio this afternoon on the way home...this is going to go ballistic.
