Odd how old people are always so misguided and uninformed. Ah, the arrogance of youth. Every generation seems condemned to realizing much too late that grandma was right in most areas.

"Grandma" You did have that sex change operation? Tell me, after you have a sex change operation can you marry someone who is of your former sex or do you have to marry someone of your new sex?

Legitimacy Harry, that's what they want. They don't say it, but that's all they are looking for, not in a legal sense, but in the public opinion sense. Otherwise, civil unions would be sufficient.

Here's a question:
Say you're already married, and then have a sex change operation.... is your marriage automatically annulled because you're now the same gender??? A person can change their name and still be legally married... but how does changing their gender affect it???

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

PB what is the difference between a "civil union" and getting married in a civil ceremony?

The illustrated guy above was married and remained married after the 'reasignment surgery' until the divorce. Technically they are still the same sex, with some cosmetic changes.
If you got your stuff cut off in an accident, that would not change your gender.

ebs - only in perception. It isn't about rights for homosexuals, it's about approval of their choice. Public validation that homosexuality is normal behavior, rather than a choice.
