You are counting on people being short sighted enough and stupid enough not to figure out that the economy melted down on Bush's watch. I am afraid there isnt enough spin in the world to convince any but kool aid drinkers that Obama is responsible when he isnt even in office yet.
Doesn't matter now who started it, all that counts is whether it is getting fixed or not. Since the Dems will undoubtly emulate FDR, I don't doubt the results will be the same as well. Only difference is, this time there will be less patience with getting it fixed.

you guys may be right. on the other hand, Obama has consistently said that the problems are big and wont get resolved overnight. A change from the mindless happy talk we typically get from the government will generate more patience than people typically have but you are probably right that he has three and a half years to turn things around and if he doesnt then there will be serious trouble for him in the next campaign. (Unless the repubs nominate Sarah Palin but I dont think God loves us Dems enough for that to happen)
You did make one acute observation about Obama sck. His vetting was basically done by his own words, rather than by actual investigation.
