Hillary is about as qualified for Secretary of State as the stewardess who was on the same flights overseas with her! GW Bush' appointees to the same position? Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice. Care to compare resumes?

Obama is a Chicag pol doing it the Chicago Way, and keeping his enemies closer to him than his friends. btw, Hillary would be a fool to take the job. What it gains her could as easily be lost and she loses the ability to be critical of the Obama administration later.

Nixon didnt need a criminal attorney. He was himself both a criminal and an attorney.

But it really is amusing watching how SHOCKED you guys are that Obama and co. are getting ready to play politics in Washington. It would be naive to do otherwise and you know it. The Repubs arent going to roll over and play dead and the Dems are not a particularly unified bunch. Each and every thing Obama tries to do will take a lot of politicking - That is the way our system works and until the Republicans are truly crushed in 2010 we cant ignore their obstructionism. (Their carping and CONCERN is already happening).

And sway I will grant you Colin Powell was a good (even great) pick for his job. Too bad the Bushies didnt listen to him more and canned him after 4 years. Condi I never liked. Sure, she had the resume but something about her reminded me of a girl in grade school I knew who always sat in the front row and prissily sucked up to the teacher. Rubbed me the wrong way. Condi doesnt seem to have accomplished much either. I thought Powell was far and away a better and more solid representative for the USA than she is. But thats just me.

"she (Palin) made far fewer factual mistakes than Biden during the campaign"

If you say so. She's still an idiot though. We Dems are hoping you guys rally behind her. She would make a GREAT candidate for you!!!!!!

PB - The majority isnt always right but I am happy to be in it this time around.

Spitzer? Yeah that guy sure blew himself up big time. Fastest political suicide ever, I think. But in his case it was his little head that was stupid, not his big one. Sarah Palin is just scarily ignorant. Thats a bit different from having trouble keeping your pecker in your pocket.

And there you have a big complaint I have with the Republican party. They have lots and lots of smart and competent people. Would it have killed them to pick one of THEM instead of a moronic beauty pageant runner up? It really doesnt speak well for McCain that he picked her - But that is all history now. Talk to me in 4 years and I will bet you a crab dinner at the boat show that Palin not only isnt the nominee but that she made a fool of herself more than once in the debates running up to it (if she even dares to appear in such an uncontrolled setting)

"Scarily ignorant"? How do you manage to arrive at this informed position? Certainly not through any objective process. But then, she has conservative values and principles, so we know she can't be smart or competent, right?

I don't know if Palin will run in 2012 or not, but I'll wager who ever the GOP candidate is, they are a conservative in action as well as word.
