I couldn't agree more. I also think that they're afraid that the blogoblags are stealing their limelight, and so are allocating more energy to shininess and yellow journalism. In the end their goal is to attract and retain an audience, and I think they're willing to do so at the expense of legitimate reporting.

All the more reason to work towards fixing this problem than argue about who should or should not have been elected.

Ziegler is an idiot. Why would you talk to anyone that way when you're trying to promote your movie about media bias, much less a member of the media? He gave silver the perfect ammo for his cause, and he even insisted that silver post a transcript of the conversation.

Ziegler has good insight, and his polls and interviews seem to be valid. Too bad he can't present his ideas to his opponents without being an A-hole.

Regarding the differences between repubs & democrats I've always wondered if our brains were wired differently. There are some personality tests that are often used to help young folks chose a career. According to this article, the same tests also indicate whether you'll be center left or center right.

center right tend to be conscientous but not open to new things
center left, not very conscientous, but open to new things.

This may also explain some of the frustration the two sides have talking to each other. The right trys to argue using a set of rules to debate by, while the left aren't bound by such rules and kind of bounce all over the place without the constraints of rules and/or evidence.

"What does the Vice President do?"

There've been more than a few Veeps who've wandered around for four or eight years vainly trying to answer that question themselves.

This explains a lot for me. Our liberal friends are content to spout off about "change" without any clue (or need for a clue) whether this change will be good, bad or indifferent. It also explains why when pressed for facts or evidence, liberals are content to offer neither. If MSNBC said it's so, then it must be so. The fannie and freddie meltdown is a good case in point. Numerous conservatives here presented overwhelming evidence that the majority of the blame for the mortgage meltdown (and the collapse of wall street) can be laid at the feet of Democrats. But none of this evidence matters, because such things would get in the way of "Change".

I would never say that, but at least I like to think that I allow facts and evidence to have some small role in my decision making. Or we can just let Mikey make decisions for us.

Dems vs. repubs

I'm not a democrat..I am a progressive though but that does not make me a liberal whatever anyone cares to think...all i know is the republicans screwed up the country alot and their platform since Reagan has been Liiliputian, homophobic, dangerously unilateral and reckless with the Constitution and appointments to he Justice Dept. They need some new blood and Palin isn't going to cut it...maybe this Bobby Jindal guy could sgive a much-needed facelift to this confused political party...

Republicans are super smart. Smartest people who ever were. Super-dooper smart. They have no short-comings. If the super-stupid evil Democrats would just get out of the way, then everything would be great. There is nothing Republicans do no know. I am 105% serious.
