Have you guys already covered Hillary's Constitutional ineligibility to serve as Secretary of State due to Article I, Section 6, Paragraph 2? Which basically says that no sitting Member of Congress can be appointed to an Executive Office for which they voted to increase the compensation during their term as a Member.
Nice catch John. Not that the constitution actually matters anymore. There is no official authority to decide if a person is constitutionally qualified to be pres, and I'm sure no one will bother with this small issue. Besides, she was chosen by the chosen one.
There is an easy fix to the constitutional problem - they have done it before. all they have to do is temporarily reduce her salary back to what it was before she voted on the increase. Then whenever she is done being sec of state they can put the increase back in
sck,
You seem to be one of the few to hold the opinion that all is just peachy keen in Obama-land. Kristina vanden Heuvel, editor of The Nation, which is the house organ for the Looney left, has the vapours. It's not just Mr. Gates that has her hyper-ventilating; it's the absence of any real leftists. Herewith her palpitations: Robert Gates: Wrong Man for the Job
On the other side of the aisle we have the observations of bedrock conservative Mona Charon. (which can be summed up with a simple, but emphatic, whew!) RealClearPolitics - Articles - Pinch Me, Am I Dreaming? The other headline for the above was, "Obama makes conservatives smile".
Change? (g)

On the Palin front, she is down in Georgia, bring out the crowds for Chambliss in his runoff. Obama has wisely decided not to go down there for his guy, as the 130,000 votes for the Libertarian candidate will mostly swing to the GOP. Wouldn't do to actively campaign for the Dem and get waxed by the Republican with Palin campaigning for him.
For you that like to think she was a drag on McCain, it wasn't his fellow Senator that Chambliss asked to campaign for him, it's Palin. Like Obama, she has the one thing that money or learning can't get a politician, charisma. And that's what has the MSM so scared about her.

windy - I suspect we will get a lot more of Bush III out of Obama, then we would have from McCain. I think that time will show that it was McCain who was the one that was actually passionate about change, not Obama. For the One, it was a vehicle to get what he wanted. You don't cut your teeth on Chicago politics without learning the only thing that matters is getting elected and staying elected. And Obama is already looking at 2012. After all, his whole political life has been about running, not governing.

The question is...... if Obama doesn't change much of what Bush was doing, is it because Bush was smarter than then say, or is Obama dumber?

"sck,
You seem to be one of the few to hold the opinion that all is just peachy keen in Obama-land."
Not even close. You guys suffer from believing your own propaganda too much. Obama never was a loony lefty. He always was a more or less center of the road Dem. Sure, that might look like a communist to somebody like Sway but to most sane people it doesnt. If you really think that just because Obama isnt a left winger that means he is going to continue doing what Bush has done then you are smoking something much stronger than anything I have.
Just wait. There will be dozens if not hundreds of Bush policies reversed or repealed withing the first hundred days of the new administration.
PS. I dont think ANY of us should be basing our opinions on what the media say. They are obsessed with ridiculous soap opera scripts like "What will Bill Clinton say to Michele when Hillary is overseas?" or some such crap like that. What REALLY matters right now is how Obama plans to save the economy which is circling the drain as we speak. Mr. Bush seems AWOL at the moment so it will be good to have a President who is actually interested in the job and competent enough to do it well.
What you forget sck, is Obama is a politician first. His whole record (what there is of it) is loony left. But, with a bunch of loonies in Congress to push for all the stuff he wants, he can stand back and let them take the heat. He's already looking at 2012, and he knows he can't hide as Pres, he has to make actual choices that can be used against him.
I don't think you'll find many conservatives that are at all doubtful of the One's political abilities. The concern, is what he does with them.
