The Looney Left ain't happy. David Corn is a principle acolyte within their sanctum santorum and he's just not seeing the change they'd anticipated based upon the Obama cabinet appointments.

Dems are at each others throats by the 4th of July. You read it here first.

Well, they finally started doing something about Illinois.

Rod Blagojevich, Illinois governor -- chicagotribune.com

Should be interesting to see how this all shakes out.

Chicago-style politics may be getting more attention than the pols would really like given the origin of the President-elect.

The Chief Economist of the Dept. of Transportation explains how infastructure funding works. He's being very nice and polite about it but, the only reasonable conclusion that can be made is that the Obama economic recovery plan is a likely waste of limited taxpayer dollars that could be better used elsewhere.
Welcome to the Fast Lane: The Official Blog of the U.S. Secretary of Transportation: Chief Economist Jack Wells: Transportation Spending, An Inefficient Way to Create Short-Term Jobs

I read somewhere else the suggestion that perhaps we should invest in the military versus infrastructure. We're far more likely to need an expanded and better equipped military than we are more roads given the state of the world today. And spending there would have the same trickle down effect as any other public spending like for infrastructure.

I think they should boost (quadruple) retired military pay; that way I can really retire instead of working through my retirement.
If I leave my job and really retire that would have the same effect as creating a job, and I do mean a better than average, white collar job.
It's not like I wouldn't spend the money anyway, which is the trickle down economy at it's best.

2 million retiree's makes a lot of trickle folks.

Ya'll call your congressmen today.

BTW, the total of Retired Pay to military retiree's in 2008 is budgeted at 1.288 billion bucks. Quadrupling it would cost a measly couple of billion which is nothing, and have a real effect.

Hey chuck

you really should be mentioning Hillary and Nancy in the "takes the wind right out of my sails" thread, not the premature ejaculation thread. But maybe thats just me. I look for hot women elsewhere than Congress. Poor chuck needs to get out more. There was a thread recently about bathing suits I think ....

Sway - You are hopeless. Your own hero, Ronald Reagan, made the 82 recession shorter with a massive fiscal stimulus. FDR brought us out of the worst of the great depression with a fiscal stimulus which was too small but that was because the whole concept was new at the time. WW2 was the mother of fiscal stimulus. We KNOW it works. But you keep right on channelling Herbert Hoover while the Dems actually do something to help people. It cemented the dems in power for years after 1932 - it can do the same now so long as the repubs continue their reality denying Hooverism.

But far more fun is the idiot gov. of Illinois - a guiltier moron hasnt been seen since Larry Craig tapped his feet and that idiot in La. froze his cash.

I wonder if blogo will still be able to claim authority to appoint obamas successor come January? That could get interesting.

I heard a rumour that it was Rahm Em. that outed him to the feds. But the investigation has been going on for 3 years so not sure that squares. Looks like penty of soap opera for the news for a while.
