I love how you keep trying to obfuscate the fact that you yourself did not believe your own postings. Your 15% decline prediction cannot be denied.

15% decline was a hell of a lot closer than the blue sky conservatives who saw no problems at all. You are being too cute by half criticizing him for not being right about the magnitude when many (even most) on your side didnt even get the DIRECTION right.

Infallibility is not accrued on the basis of one semi-correct assumption, nor is fallibility ensconced by one wrong one. Neither is any semblance of expertise in one field of endeavor a guarantee of expertise in any other.

who said anything about infallibility? I just said he was closer than the many on the right who saw no problems and in fact wanted to deregulate EVEN MORE. Many of them STILL think more deregulation is the answer. I bet some of them even post in this thread. Fortunately for the rest of us, this school of thought only has three more weeks in power.

I predicted a 10 to 20% correction. it was bound to happen after the 7 year run-up.

Chicken little spouted lots of 80% crash scenerios but when push came to shove predicted 15%. Now when asked will not respond to what he thinks going forward. Coward.

I predict lots of volatility around the current level for most of the first half of next year. I would be surprised to see it below 7000 or above 9500 any time before the end of sailing season next year.

There. I made a prediction! Feel free to grade me on it later!!

In fact, I seem to recall the repubs agitating for stricter rules since they are worried about illegal immigrants getting them. I am not sure about that though.
sck,
The feds can issue and proclaim whatever they want regarding driver's licenses but that doesn't make them the national DMV. The states must adopt the federal recommendations, which may sometimes be the equivalent of blackmail, but the fed cannot just implement their license standards.

The feds wanted and even tried to mandate motor-voter but each state had to pass it on it's own for it be the policy of all the states. Same thing with the late, and unlamented, 55 mph interstate speed limit. Montana resisted the federal "suggestion" strongly until the feds threatened to withhold federal highway tax dollars if the double nickel wasn't implemented by the state.

It's important to understand these things as the alternative is to stand by ignorantly while your federal government takes away all that makes you and your state unique. Strictly in your best interest, of course!

The courts...
The above makes sense only if you're either unfamiliar with the Constitution or just don't really care what your government does. My money is on the former.

AFOC's have been accused of being exclusive and elitist, so I am trying to post a kind of "how to" guide on this thread to help include some new people into the discussion.
