Yes, the White Devil (IHOP) is looking to open up a couple of restaurants here in Afganistan. I don't have the lag/long, but the meeting is slated to coincide with the Early Bird Special. I have to say one thing -- and I"m not trying to crap all over the Afgan sailing community -- but the sailing really sucks around here. Why, the seaside practically nonexistent. In fact, all of the sailing here is done on the hard.
Funny how that "moron" Palin happens to be one of only five Governors who isn't facing a budget deficit. Despite having neither a state income nor sales tax, declining price of oil, and an ongoing cut back in Federal funds being requested. Seems she has this rather quaint notion that when revenues decline, so should state spending.

Alaska receives monies for every gallon pumped down that pipeline and although I have not benn here in a while (almost 20 years) I believe everyone actually receives a portion of the Budget Surplus..a great place to be at tax time.
The Permanent Fund Dividend comes out of the earnings of the Permanent Fund and is considered and taxed as income by the IRS.

After telling Congressional GOP leaders, "I won", Obama has shown his much hearlded talk of a new bi-partisanship, is just that, talk. It's my way, or the highway. Funny how not so long ago we were hearing how terrible that attitude is.

When you lose as big as the repubs have, and STILL can only think of tax cuts as the reponse to any and every problem, and have run the economy into the ground, you shouldnt expect people to care much what you have to say
