One has to wonder just what constitutes an ethical violation for this administration. Two unpatriotic, according to Joe Biden, tax cheats (yeah, honest, innocent mistake ..... right!) An Attorney General that went against the Justice Dept to get the most infamous pardon since Nixon. As well as for 17 unrepentant terrorists that weren't even asking for pardons (though they did fit a demographic that Hillary needed). And a Secretary of State whose husband rakes in millions from foreign governments.
Oh well. He promised change, I guess that's it. A definite change from Bush.

Not sure if this is the proper place for this but it is an interesting read. The article refers to the changes Clinton made in welfare ( the only good thing he did) and how it moved so many off the welfare roles.
Welfare Reform, Phase Two by Steven Malanga, City Journal Winter 2009
Interestingly is the views made at the end of the article as to what Obamas admin. might have in regards to welfare.

Actually, all Clinton really did was sign the GOP bill.

I am thinking we will be forced to resurrect some of the welfare in some form if we have a prolonged depression - Most people (including me) arent willing to watch people go hungry or homeless if they are willing to work but are unemployed through no fault of their own. Lets hope that if this happens they use some sense in what they do.

What was interesting about the article was the woman had lived on welfare for three decades. When faced with having to work for her welfare checks she suddenly became mindful of her desire and ability to improve herself.
Kind of makes you think about all the BS in regards to immigrants needed to work those jobs nobody else wanted. Simple fact is if you are going to pay someone with taxpayer money, they should have to work or it if they are capable regardless of the type of work.
The people the chosen one selects for office are going to have an effect on the future outcome of welfare. And it's not going to be positive.

SK...good article...but it fails to mention who was REALLY responsible for that act:
The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 ( PRWORA, Pub.L. 104-193, 110 Stat. 2105, enacted August 22, 1996) is a United States federal law considered to be a fundamental shift in both the method and goal of federal cash assistance to the poor. The bill was a cornerstone of the Republican Contract With America and was introduced by Rep. E. Clay Shaw, Jr. (R-Florida) who believed welfare was partly responsible for bringing immigrants to the United States. [1] Bill Clinton signed PRWORA into law on August 26, 1996 under his promise to "end welfare as we know it".
*********
Let's thank Newt G. and the Contract with America for that reform!! But we will give a tip o the hat to Clinton for recognizing what the people wanted quite clearly after the 94 election. As it turns out...the republican bill is one of his few claims to fame!

Cam,
I knew there was a reason why I thought it was the only good thing Clinton did while in office.
And with Obamas standards for his cabinet picks being set so low he may pave the way for Newt to run in 4 years

au contraire SK. Gibbs announced today that Obama has set the highest standards of anyone before him. And since the exception proves the rule, we know it's true since he's already taken on 17 lobbyists in his no lobbyist administration. At the present rate of progress, Gregg, from the culture of corruption party, may well be the only unethically challenged candidate Obama appoints.

If they won't take your personal checks Sck5, I'm sure they will accept cash.
You are a good person to help out people in need, I for one am cheering you on.
