They all get to use campaign money to pay for anything they use/spend.

Nice to know that our right to free speech (sending our candidate a dollar) includes the ability to pay for their retreats.

One of the many, many reasons I don't send them a penny, or play in the folly that is our political process (other than to snipe from the sidelines of course).

Well.

The sorting out of the Republican party continues apace. Specter, Collins, and Snow seem to have caved. All three have long been dead weight around the party's neck; let the lynchings begin! Equally amazing as the perfidy of those three is the fact that the Dem leadership is now calling the stimulus bill bipartisan. Yup, no House Reps, and only three Senators and you got'cher self a veritable consensus. Ain't gonna fly in these here United States. Stand by for telephone lock-up on the Hill. If Obama is smart he'll promise to veto it! ( for which I'll give him great credit in doing something his predecessor did far too little of.)

The telephone lockup has been on going...you couldn't get through all day to any of the turncoats phones! Ask me how I know!

sck5 is on a distinguished road
bipartisan bishmartisan. There is absolutely no reason whatever to think that the best thing to do is halfway between what the dems want and what the repubs want. I bet even sailaway agrees with me about that.

bipartisanship is a fetish of the media. Bush didnt govern that way and neither should Obama. What Ob should do is try his damnedest to get exactly what he wants through Congress. Then we can see if it works and there will be no doubt who gets the credit if it works and no ducking the blame if it doesnt.

I absolutely agree with you sck. No bipartisanism at all is what I wish for. I want a CLEAR record for Congress and Obama for the next election cycles.
I'm sck of RINOS and compromisers. I want repubs to fight everything that goes against our traditional core values and I expect the Dems to ram everything they can through. I'm fine with that. I'll be even finer with that in 2010 & 2012.

Remarks by Barney Frank:

Quote:
Congress will consider legislation to extend some of the curbs on executive pay that now apply only to those banks receiving federal assistance, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank said.
“There’s deeply rooted anger on the part of the average American,” the Massachusetts Democrat said at a Washington news conference today.
He said the compensation restrictions would apply to all financial institutions and might be extended to include all U.S. companies.

Right. I'd love to see that stand up in court.

With people like Barney Frank saying stupid *&%^ like that, you have to think Obama is pacing around the oval office saying "With friends like these, who needs enemies .."
