Oh and they're going to give you a tax credit if your A/C dies this year and you replace it with an energy star one, but if it died last year or if it last till 2011, then no tax credit for you. Cause lets face it, if your A/C is only 5 years old then your not going to replace it for a tax credit less then half the cost of replacement.

Same for water heaters I believe, and major re-insulations but not low e windows or weather seals.

The Interstate Commerce Clause!!!

Now we see where you think the Federal government should be. That was passed in the 1880's!!!! do you really think most folks want to return to the world of 130 years ago? I dont even think YOU really do. I know I dont.

Good news on the Obama agenda of Europeanizing the US. Our unemployment will be just above the historical lows for unemployment in the EU. Won't seem near as bad, once we achieve the social democracy, ala the EU, that Obama, and so many libs find to be Nirvana. (Is it any wonder that DC is the one place with RISING employment numbers?)

And after all, it's a small price to pay to have the government do everything for you.

Sense has nothing to do with it.

Wind Magic and others, whether or not solar power and wind farms make economic sense is of no importance to Democrats. They like the idea of that kind of power so they are going to make it happen. This is why there is going to be a huge government subsidy for the GM Volt that will be out in the next year or so. The car won't be bought by sensible people because it isn't economically feasible, so the government is going to spend taxpayer money to get people to buy it. This is also why they oppose nuclear power: they simply don't like that kind of generation. New plants are clean and the technology exists to drastically reduce the amount of by product, but the liberals will oppose them no matter what. Hence, the liberals would like for the US to look like Europe: they don't like the decisions the market place makes, so they want to substitute government fiat. This is how Europe and the EU work, it is why their economy is permanently in the tank compared to ours, and that is secondary in importance to making sure that the right political decisions are made, as opposed to the right economic ones.

Not all of the cost of your oil and gasoline is paid at the pump. Hasnt it ever occurred to you that if we didnt need imported oil we wouldnt give a rat's ass what happened in Iraq and we wouldnt have had to spend a trillion dollars invading and occupying it? (not that we did anyway, but that is another discussion). If we didnt need middle east oil we wouldnt need nearly the military expenditures we have now. Many people think it would be a fine thing to be able to supply our own energy and tell the oil countries to pound salt.

I'd like to share this:
I’m tired of hearing all the gloom and doom coming from the media about the economy and unemployment—I bet you are, too! Let’s take a minute to look at the true reality of the situation and what we can do about it.

Yes, many people have lost their jobs and houses. You may be one of them. But guess what? People have lost their jobs and houses even in a bull market. About 93% of people are still employed. That is pretty good! I was alive in the 1970s when unemployment hit double digits, and we’re nowhere near that right now! I’m not making light of the fact that some people are struggling; I’m just putting the situation in the proper perspective.

Even though you may be currently unemployed, that doesn’t mean you have to participate in the recession. People like me who have chosen to not participate acknowledge the reality of a slow economy and suffering people. However, we have decided that we’re not going to form our lives around the negativity coming out of the media and government. We’re intensifying our efforts and going to have the best year of our lives in spite of things slowing down.

Some people who find themselves unemployed will go into new careers or start their own businesses where they have the best year of their lives—professionally, financially and emotionally. Their current job losses are actually blessings in disguise. They believe this and are formulating game plans based on it. I guarantee there are men in their garages right now starting their own mechanic shops. The next Mary Kay Ash is writing up a business plan for new products she’s just created. College students are developing “the next best thing” in their dorm rooms as you are reading this. This is reality!

So think about your skills and interests. How can you leverage those passions into something you enjoy doing every day while earning money for it? If you haven’t lost your job but dread going to work, maybe it’s time to fire your employer and go in a new direction. When you have a game plan for your money and career, you will have a sense of empowerment because you aren’t a slave to the lender (or employer).

When employers start hiring because they believe their businesses will grow, recessions end. Many who have stopped hiring a healthy amount have been paralyzed by fear. They’ve lost hope. People who continue going about their lives in normal ways (without being irresponsible and buying stuff they can't afford) believe in the future. It’s called hope.

You can have fear or hope. It's your choice.

I choose hope.
