Free, is the heart, that lives not, in fear.
Full, is the spirit, that thinks not, of falling.
True, is the soul, that hesitates not, to give.
Alive, is the one, that believes, in love. JCP
You can't make this stuff up. Were I a citizen of Brattleboro I'd be considering a recall petition. Any reasonably well educated eigth grade knows the procedures for impeachment and that it is a federal matter. Obviously the taxpayer's of Brattleboro's elected representatives have too much time on their hands and should take a reduction in compensation for a part-time job. Perhaps a reduction in city council meetings, to say twice a year, would allow them to concentrate more narrowly on issues of local interest. I'm sure their socialist Senator Bernard Sanders was gratified by the resolution and, Ben & Jerry, wherever they are, must be thrilled.

McCain wins Florida and Guiliani bows out tomorrow. Not great news in my book but Romney was a reasonably close second to McCain. Winner takes all in FL but Romney should be heartend that it was close.
On the Progressive Party front. Virtually every Kennedy you've ever had the displeasure of hearing from has endorsed Obama. Is it his ideas on policy or his vision for Amerca? Uh, well no. He hasn't said anything on those matters, or any other matters. He just sounds good. Yeah, like Jack did. At least that's what Caroline said. At the risk of asking a stupic question, I'd query, can these people really be this shallow and simplistic? Does anyone over the age of twentyfive really think that way? Maybe the word "think" in that last sentence was a bit strong. Does anyone over the age of twentyfive even emote that way?

It gets on around election season and Mr. Will is inclined to become rather more ascerbic than is his usual wont. With the Super Bowl to endure and it still being some weeks before pitchers and catchers report, this is perhaps understandable. Having mentioned football, it would be entirely appropriate to classify his column, in the words of the late Cosell, as "telling it like it is".
Dunno Sway...Guili's base is more moderate/independent than Romney AND he is endorsing McCain now. And the spread in FL was 5 points...not 1 or 2. I don't like tonights results at all. Romney needs to start talking about the danger of a hothead with his hand on the trigger and scare some folks!!

McCain also has a subtle tendency to gently remind everyone that he was a hero long before he came to the Senate, making criticism difficult. We used to call this wrapping one's self in the flag, before we started patching blue jeans and burning Old Glory. McCain is demonstrably a hero, but then so was Bob Dole, who was far more crippled than most people knew-from his service, only Dole discouraged any talk of his war service. All of which makes it tougher for Romney to lay a hand on him. To the extent he's read, George Will's column above hit's McCain the way Romney would surely like to portray him. Super Tuesday is shaping up to be very super. I think Romney will continue to harp on McCain's record and let the media do the wet work.
