Cam, we don't need good choices, we just need to follow the DNC's lead and push someone in under affirmitive action

Unfortunately, throwing the bums out works only if you have an intelligent electorate to vote in new ones. Though it would at least provide some effective gridlock in the short term.

He is a heck of a nice guy, but it takes more than that.
Huckabee is a RINO despite any liberal judgments made based upon his appearances, and now his own show, on the Fox News Channel.

To the best of my knowledge, Huckabee's views on the state and religion are not outside what is regarded as the mainstream. Perhaps the point attempted by our Massachusetts correspondent is that he is a former preacher and thus suspect.

I'll reiterate, for the forty-fifth time, that there is no constitutional mandate for separation of church and state. There is the establishment clause and there is the free exercise clause, neither of which use the word "separation" at any point. Massachusetts was one of many states to have a constitutionally valid state religion. You could look it up. Or not.

Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana is an attractive candidate for the GOP.

I just wanted to highlight the above posting from our Massachusetts correspondent. Apparently irony is associated with getting the wrinkles out of shirts in the Bay state.

I had to laugh when the Repubs got up there and presented their alternative budget....WITH NO NUMBERS. Then, last week, they presented their answer to the health care crisis - 4 pages!

I want to know if my health care is going to continue to increase by double digits each year. I want to know the short AND long term plan for energy conservation and generation in this country. I want to know what they think about the total loss of manufacturing in this country and the loopholes which allow our corporates to offshore their profits and not pay taxes.
You want solutions? Call your Congressman, Senator, or the White House. Your party controls both the legislative and executive branches of government. The GOP is in the minority and serves as the loyal opposition and while they are proposing solutions, the Dem's have no need to either listen or vote on them. Any "solution" will be a Democrat solution. This is your government and the programs will be your programs. It's already your economy. How's that workin' out for ya?

The polls show that while the President's popularity remains high, a majority of Americans oppose his programs, especially economic programs. That cognitive dissonance cannot last. Eventually the President will become identified with his programs and then there will be a crash. If he's true to the Democrat tradition, he'll find a war to get us into to deflect criticism, not that there won't be a war just a-waiting for him, given his naif-like foreign policy statements.

So there's really not much need for all this talk about the fecklessness of the GOP. Just leave us in the wilderness to fend for ourselves; we'll probably just dry up and blow away, never to be seen again. Concentrate on governing the nation instead. We're just a minority, so there's nothing to stop you from instituting your plan. Or, are you better at bitchin' than producin'?

Well, we got about 800 pages here on one thread among some bullshitters discussing Dem vs. GOP, so you tell me.

As a rule of thumb, it must be longer than the monthly invoice I receive from Blue Cross.....

There is no 'easy" button for a subject so complex....and it certainly is not 4 pages of talking points.

I suppose it's fanciful to ask if you actually read the "4" pages, isn't it? Since you merely use it's length as proof of it's ineffectiveness.
