The Netherlands emulates, uh, Canada?

From our European desk comes news of fresh insanities within the Dutch world. Van Gogh; dead. Hirsi Ali; abroad at an undisclosed location. Wilders; now in the dock.

Another example of what happens when your rights are endowed by the government and not the Creator. Anyone who believes that free speech is one of our preeminent rights will be interested in the events described in the article below.

We just don't beleve that propogation of hate is an inalienable right. You have one wierd Creator.

Ebs,

I just wanted to point out that what SA is calling an inalienable right is not an inalienable right. The first 10 amendments to the constitution which are also known as the bill of rights are not given by the Creator but are man made. The inalienable rights are life liberty and the persute of happiness. SA just added another one - the propogation of hate. Hate crimes go against those inalienable rights stated in the Declaration of Independence.

The point of the cartoon ebs001, and I'm kinda surprised that you missed it, is that if you believe that the man's effort to educate people about the threat of radical Islam is "inciting hatred and discrimination", you're not being very realistic or else you are uninformed.

I may be wrong, but I thought the first ten amendments where there to preserve rights that already existed and didn't create anything. A previous important American document indicates that at least some of these rights were recognized to already exist.

Erps, no they were created by man. Life, liberty and the persute of happiness were created by The Creator
PB, a freedom can only exist when inalienable rights are preserved. We have laws agianst slander for example. Thus freedoms are never an absolute.
Knotty, I'm not the one with my head in the sand. I'm not surprised you missed it.
