Except - does anyone have any numbers on how many handgun deaths are done by outside of the family/friends list and how many are done by family/friends?
I know I've seen these stats before and if I'm reading this graph right, you're more likely to be killed by an intimate than a stranger.

I'll stick to tasers, it's more fun to jolt them every couple seconds and watch the results than to shoot them once and let them bleed on the carpet. OF course there is still a certain amount of fluid and other leakage to clean up, but it's less of a permanent stain.
Good for you. I think it could be argued that folks who don't have a self defense strategy are selfish people who would put other people at risk to save them. It's not much different from the unprepared sailor who goes out on the high seas and presses the EPIRB button at the approach of a storm. It puts rescuers at risk.

Now Chuck, what will your position be when the government decides that tasers should be outlawed?

I'm always amazed how "us" and "them" the gun issue has become.

There was a time when gun ownership was an "us" issue, because you were happy your neighbor had a gun, happy everyone had one, or more than one. It was a "we" thing, because we were all in it together, and having guns around was a civic duty.

Now gun ownership is a "them" issue, because your neighbor is out to get you, the kid down the street is going to shoot himself, you can't trust anyone who has guns, guns are dangerous, boogedy boogedy boogedy.

The gun control crowd is a study in disconnected, isolated, frightened group think - people so scared of their neighbors and the world they live in that they can't even trust the people around them to be as sensible as they believe they themselves are.

Personally I'm glad my neighbors have guns, and I trust you to have one too.

Something rare happened two weeks ago and then again this past week, the National Nooze carried fast bits about a person being robbed in Florida--and the next guy in line pulled out a licensed concealed handgun and confronted the robber. The second similar bit came from the midwest (Wisconsin maybe?) with a similar incident.

If folks had any idea how often guns in the hands of citizens were used to interrupt or deter crime, or against criminals, the whores trying to sell "gun control" would be out of business. But since there are no statistics kept on "I pulled my gun but didn't use it" much less on "I pulled my gun and saved..." and the Nooze tend to walk arm in arm with the Saviors pushing domestic terrorism (aka gun control against Evil Guns)...the news just never gets out there.

Effin stupid voters never read the story of Esau and learned what selling a birthright means. Like the Brits, who were damned glad when the US shipped them millions of DONATED CIVILIAN GUNS for domestic security patrols during WW2. How soon they forget.

its amazing to me how liberals cant figure out how somebody that is willing to shove a gun in your face and blow the top of your head off isnt worried about the gun laws on the books or how these gun laws only serve to punnish the law abiding people that only wish to protect themselves and thier homes from radical terrorist that have no clue about a law or the actions resulting from the missuse of a firearm.

That was a creative heading on my part to get folks' attention southwind. It seems to me that if they can require you to do all these things before exercising one constitutional right, what's to stop them from doing it for other constitutional rights, such as printing new letters? Should you have to pass a government test before going to church?
