Unite Left Wing Evangelicals!

Are there any of these out there? Or is the whole evangelical thing only a purview of the Right in the USofA.

Discuss!

Left Wing Evangelicals do exist.

You will find them at the Church of Mother Earth and Anything Goes!!

One knocked on my door the other day soliciting donations for Greenpeace and PETA!!

They are the ones worried about helping the poor and the sick instead of picketing abortion clinics.

Sck, Why do you post things like that. You know it's not true. Or have you never been involved with church going folks? I think you must just like insulting people and their beliefs.
While every congregation that I have ever been involved with has been very outspoken against the crime of abortion and some may have even protested against it. They were also always very faithful about helping the poor and supporting the less fortunate locally as well as around the world.
I suppose that if there were such a thing as a Left Wing Evangelical, they would be just as faithful to the admonitions in the Bible.

several studies have shown that red states and particularly red counties donate much more than blue states and blue counties

blue states expect the next guy to pay the tab, just like Daschle, and all his tax cheat dem friends that had to pay NO penalties.
Biden said that it is unpatriotic to not pay taxes. so he confirms there are a LOT of unpatriotic dems.

Wouldn't it be nice if the poor could get a job instead of a hand-out and the sick could pay for healthcare instead of taxes that end up wasted?

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all stop paying for somebody else's ideas of social justice and social reform and instead apply our own hard-earned wealth to the issues we personally feel merit our capital?

KH,

There are right-wing evangelicals that spend all their time trying to stop abortions, just as there are left-wing nut jobs that spend all their time trying to stop whaling.

Neither are helping the poor or the sick.

Don't be so sensitive.

Dude, dude, dude. You're like a broken record here.

Actually, I think it's an interesting question. The typical presentation of religion/politics (even as you see above) is that the "right" has the evangelicals and the "left" has the environmental whack-jobs. This would lead one to the inference that the "right" essentially "owns" the religion issue. So, I'm just asking whether there are actually religious folk out there that consider their politics "left-leaning" and are able to justify the two just like a "right-leaning" religious person does (beyond the single issue of abortion).

My gut says that there are - but you don't hear much about them in the media. So I thought I'd ask. No harm in that.

BTW PB, if/when I actually decide to "troll"....you'll know.

That's just what John Lennon was thinking when he penned "Imagine!!"
