The Dems. and the PC a**h*** led us here!

This is what remains on "You Tube" of evidence of the seeds of most of our economic troubles. Yes it is a political production. But there is no air brushing or dubbing of the videos.

And hey, the transcripts are available in the library of Congress, should you be so anally inclined. It's the piece of the puzzle our current government "hopes" you won't see.

There is no doubt, Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac foolishly/criminally gave their stamp of approval on the sub-prime mortgages (read: no down and liar loans) to the secondary loan market (mortgages turned into securities, in the illegal drug business it would be called money laundering).

With political cover from political hacks like Barney Franks, Frank Raines made millions laundering bad loans with his other Dem cronies. Set up by Washington Dems in the congress, they passed on bad debt and kicked back to the campaign contributions of their Dem political benefactors. It's all public record. The MSM didn't want you to know, so they focused on Bush's seeming illiteracy and 2 gay Republicans and anything else that would catch your eye.

The Main Stream Media covered this up because, well... the election.

Did I loose you there? Good I'm not talking to the cool-aid drinkers. This is for the serious people that have skin in the game but still have a chance to do something in 2010.

The Dems in the video are the clowns now in charge.

That would be the same Dems that are saving thousands of GOVERNMENT jobs with their "stimulus", but don't do a whole lot for the everyday Joe on Main Street who's been responsible, hasn't overextended himself with an "affordable" house beyond his income, and now gets to watch all the irresponsible folks get bailed out with his tax dollars. Oops, I forgot, they give him a whole $8 a week break on taxes, but he has to hope he's not too successful, or next year they're going to raise his taxes, to help pay off the debt they just dumped on him to bailout everybody that didn't play the game straight.

Not one cent of stimulus money will come my way, yet so far the bill on me personally will be a little over 15k, more when you figure all the no-loads that don't pay taxes anyway.

You're logic eludes me. Banking oversight is at issue here. The regulators tried to blow the whistle and the Lib Dems lambasted them for the attempt.

And your saying what... that the Dems being politicians didn't mean their attacks on the regulators; secretly they were for tighter regulation.

By extension the Republicans who called Fannie and Freddie to task, risking labels of racism, also being politicians were likewise just lying and they secretly wanted looser regulation.

No; sometimes things are just as they seem. Too pull too much out of the video requires just too much imagination for me.

Now you could declare that the whole thing is a Fox News contrivance and that all the statements were taken out of context. But I don't think that is what your saying.

Anyway, for the benefit of sck, who no doubt thinks along those lines. If the tape was doctored, it's the best edit job in history. Dubbing of words would have had to take place because the meanings stand on their own, otherwise.

I do defend "W" against all unreasoned and habitual attackers. But he was no hero in any of this. I don't know how many years of vitriol a man can take and remain effective. The problem is attempts at reform were made, but they ended up much like the attempt to reform Social Security, in political purgatory.
