I think their goal of advertising...and I see a LOT more Boeing and Lockheed Martin ads (these, of course, are not the Pentagon)...is to make people think they need more military toys (meaning money) and for people to support more use of that equipment, commonly called war.

If the DOD was like Madoff and Wall Street (competitive entities)?....well, I'm not sure that is a good idea. I support spending vastly less on our military structure.....and abhor the no-bid stuff which Cheney and friends started and continue.

Yes, so in some ways they are trying to convince you not to feel bad about paying big money in taxes.

However, I can assure you that if you have 10 million dollars and put it in certain tax-free bonds, that you will have to pay little or no income tax. Of course, you do have to earn the 10 first and pay tax on the way....unless....

you inherit it - and I think if your parents pass in the next two years or so, the caps are off or something like that, so no tax or tax only above a number of millions.

So, inherit a couple million. Invest in tax free. Support no military that way.

Pretty easy. None of have unlimited choices, but we do have more than any people ever in history. Too much choice in some cases.
