There's a leak at the pharmaceutical plant again, just upwind of Berlin, MD.

Clint Eastwood has broken rank.
He is turned off by the hijacking of the party by religious fanatics and neocons.
Some Republicans that I like include:
Chuck Hagel
Arlen Spector
Olympia Snowe
Susan Collins
Lincoln Chaffee
Some that I have voted for:
Reagan
Dole (1988 primary)
Giuliani
Pataki
Bloomberg

That's a nice list of RINO's, but this thread is about conservatives

That explains the Republicans problems in a nutshell.
Anyone who doesn't bow down to Rush Limbaugh is considered a RINO.

Considering of those you named, the 3 still in office are the only Republicans that voted for the stimulus bill, and Chaffee endorsed Obama, and that Hagel was mentioned as a possible VP or SecDef for Obama, I don't think Limbaugh has much to do with it. But, it's the usual meme.

I don't follow you.
Those who voted for the BRIDGE TO NOWHERE are considered "real Republicans"????
But those who supported the stimulus are not???
As for Hagel, he is very conservative. He simply disagreed with Bushs Iraq policy.
The Republicans have done a very good job at alienating large segments of the population who have voted for them in the past. Limbaugh has everything to do with it. There are Republican Congressman who are apologizing to him because they stated something that Limbaugh disagrees with.
So much for "the party of ideas"

That would seem to be the list of people who belong on the wall of shame in Republican National HQ's... what beliefs do any of them (the first 5) share with Ronald Regan? Their solutions for this country are closer to Obama's. Without 3 of those idiots we could have stopped the bailout and 9000 earmarks farce.
NO EXCUSES for the SHAMEFULNESS of Republican Congress for 2000-2006 and their desertion of their principles. Just commenting on the 5 dolts and in particular Collins, Snow and Spector. The other two already got what they deserve. Unfortunately, only Spector will feel the wrath in 2010.
Mainers will have to suffer the shame and idiocy for 4 and 6 more years.

You got that right! Snowe used to be a moderate and tended to vote issue by issue (which is what we Mainers like more than party affiliation), then she became a Bush yes-man, now she'll do just about anything to get re-elected.
I worked on the house next to hers a while back. One day I watched in amazement as she took out her trash in a manner I had never thought of: from insider her car she opened her garage door with an electronic garage door opener, drove her car to the end of her short driveway, got out and opened her trunk, took the garbage bags out of her trunk and placed them on the edge of the road, closed her trunk, got back in her car and drove back into her garage and closed the garage door again. She was dressed in a long black coat, black hat and black scarf (I was in shorts and a t-shirt). It was a very odd scene which my buddy summed up nicely by saying "she's a bit like Michael Jackson, isn't she?" The last thing on my mind was "she's cool."

Its interesting that at the head of your list of Republicans voted for is RW Reagan, the man responsible for hijacking the party from the control of the liberal Republicans you otherwise seem to admire. Take the conservatives out of the Republican party and all you've left is Demo-lite. And given their options, the American people will vote for a Dem every time over a Rep acting like a Dem.
Its confusing in New York. The bottom half of your voted-for list would not make it in any other market of conservatives other than in NY where some of the Dem's are more reliably conservative than some of the Reps. Giuliani is the quintessential embodiment of the phenomena. Put the cops back on the streets and start enforcing the laws on the books, and suddenly you're the New York equivalent of Barry Goldwater. Of course, the rot goes so deep in NYC politics that it all seems rational, much more like a third world country than a debate over liberal versus conservative.
