GOP Strategy

Robert G Kaufman on Rebranding the GOP:
YouTube - Republicans own Fox News: Admission by Bush Apologist Robert G. Kaufman

"If I had to recommend one single thing that the Republicans should be doing to help articulate the message, it is to acquire another television network so that there is not just FOX."

(there it is, folks, clear - fair and balanced - a top GOP insider suggesting that the party buy ANOTHER TV network so they can win elections)

Robert G. Kaufman is a political scientist specializing in American foreign policy, national security, international relations, and various aspects of American politics.
Kaufman has written frequently for scholarly journals and popular publications, He is the author of three books. His most recent book In Defense of the Bush Doctrine was published by the University Press of Kentucky in May 2007

camaraderie is a jewel in the rough camaraderie is a jewel in the rough camaraderie is a jewel in the rough
The reason Fox COMMENTARY...not news... is conservative/republican biased is because that is how Rupert Murdoch felt he could best compete with the Communist News Network when he bought Fox in 1996.
He is above all a good business man. Last year...his NY Paper...the Post...endorsed Obama :
In a 2008 interview with Walt Mossberg, Murdoch was asked whether he had "anything to do with the New York Post's endorsement of Barack Obama." Without hesitating, Murdoch replied, "Yeah. He is a rock star. It's fantastic. I love what he is saying about education. I don't think he will win Florida... but he will win in Ohio and the election. I am anxious to meet him. I want to see if he will walk the walk."
Murdoch's no Soros. He'll support what makes him money.

Kaufman is right...we need another biased outlet to counteract the 5 liberal biased networks. I find the FOX 6'oclock news to be the only unbiased news program on TV. But I grant you that from 4PM to 10PM the commentary shows are biased towards conservative viewpoints which is why they each win their time slots. Murdoch is doing his best to put Turner and MSNBC to the fire.

Not quite clear.....are you saying Murdock supports what makes him money or Soros does?

I thought Soros was not involved in any particular business....just a billionaire investor. Murdock has as far as admitted that he simply gives people what they want.....whatever it is.

I guess when GE (NBC) is consider left wing (they make nuclear warheads, jet aircraft engines, etc.), we have certainly come full circle.

It is just pretty interesting, though, that someone would just say "if we can just create another partisan network, we will have more credibility and win elections".........

After all, News Corp (FOX) and other networks are losing profitability real fast. Another network would probably dilute profits since most people cannot watch two shows at one time - that means advertisers won't pay.....

And even really rich guys (most of whom are progressive anyway) aren't gonna simply dump 100's of millions into a network for political power.

But I guess anything is possible. I think everything is headed to the internet anyway, and our progressive friends at google will make sure the news all gets sent in the right direction...with their little search engine tricks.

Ah, now that's power....

And this boys and girls is how elections are won. Or should I say bought. You may or may not have seen this video already, but it's pretty interesting. The first time I saw this I thought these people must be the biggest group of idiots on the planet. But then I'm sure they are just average people who watch a little news here and there from one of the major news networks. Much of the news they were spoon fed by these news outlets had little to do with the candidates ability to govern, but they made sure the message stuck.

I'm sure you could find many McCain voters who are just as uninformed, but I bet that they would have answered many of the questions the same.
