I will not be attending any tax protest on July 4th. I will do the normal 4th of july celebration with the family.
I thought taxes just went down for 95% of the population, there should not be that many people in a hurry to protest taxes.

I think they are protesting that the top rate is now lower than it was under Bushes Daddy or when Reagan left office.
In fact, the average tax rate paid to Fed. Taxes has remained within a couple percentage points for the past 30 years...and currently stands at about 13%
For the top 10% of earners, which I am lucky enough to count myself among, the rate has varied about 4% at most in the last two decades and is now at the LOW end.
So, honestly, it would be quite foolish and hypocritical for me to claim I'm...all of a sudden....being heavily taxed.....

Perhaps you're unfamiliar with the obligations incurred when assuming debt. At some point, it must be repaid. And there aren't enough "rich" people to pay it off if you taxed 'em 100%. That means, that every Tom, Dick and Harry will pay more. How much more is a function of how much more debt is incurred.
The heart of the matter isn't tax rates now, it's what they will end up having to be in the future to pay for spending now. Saving $400 this year doesn't quite make up for having to pay $1200 a year in the future.

Once again, taxes are only one of many issues, but having said that, I'll say this; That tax break for 95% of the population in Ca. was just offsetted by a tax increase to 100% of the population in Ca. though sales tax increase that went from 7.75%-9.75% ( in some areas even higher), a DMV Registration Fee increase and a list of other tax increases; Funny how these State increases coincided with our $468.00/yr Federal tax reduction.
So, where did we benefit ???, I'm paying more, with less and my offspring and theirs are, and will remain, on the hook for the 2.5 trillion dollars spent out of the 12.3 trillion commented by this Admin.
But again, this is only one issue of many and they are not a left/Right or Rep/Dem bash fest, they are a " We are headed in the wrong direction on everything, so pull your head out of your a$$ " demonstration

Ca. is out of hand....
But state and fed taxes are two different things.
You should blame Arnold and your own state and localities for the mess ehy created.
Ca. is perhaps the most beautiful place in the country....maybe in the world. That said, I can't afford to move or live there.....and would honestly flinch paying that kind of sales tax, etc.
We pay 5% - I might put up with 7, but after that I'm done....

There again, you're not understanding, it's not State vs Fed, left vs Right, Rep vs Dem it's a over reaching, over spending, over taxing Government, it's about a Admin that is bailing out the water but refuses to plug the hole(s) it's about a Pres that will and has bent over ( literally ) to Governments that want to see us gone
It's about not listening ( addmittedly by this Congress and Admin ) and being out of touch with the majority of your employers ( 70% of them )

I guess you mean this polling:
Three months into his presidency, Barack Obama stands out as perhaps the most trusted figure in American politics.
In a new Public Strategies Inc./POLITICO national survey of 1,000 registered voters, Obama outdistances figures on both the left and the right in earning the public’s trust, with two-thirds of respondents saying they trust the president “to identify the right solutions to the problems we face as a nation.”
Of those who said they trust the president, 31 percent said they trust him “a great deal.” An additional 35 percent said they have “some” trust that Obama will find the correct solution. Thirty-one percent said they trust Obama either “not very much” or “not at all.”
Voters were asked the same question of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Republican Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, former Massachusetts Republican Gov. Mitt Romney, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh and the two major political parties. Among those choices, only the Democratic Party was trusted to find the right solutions by a majority of voters, 52 percent to 40 percent. Forty percent of those surveyed said they trusted the Republican Party, compared with 54 percent who did not trust the GOP.

I don't care what Republicans or Democrats say anymore, I am voting out any incumbent who dares run for office and I will vote third party until somebody starts listening to me, that's change you can believe in, and believe in again, and again, and again, and again. I've been a party of one for a long time, but now it looks like there might be others.
Craigimass is right with his poll numbers though, this is definitely an Obama nation.

Hell Craig, I can go to Santa Ana and take a poll on rather or not Illegal Aliens have a right to state welfare or rather or not sanctuary status should be ban and I'll get a whole different poll result there than I would if I asked the entire state.
Polls don't mean squat
And yet I agree, it is a ObamaNation

I agree with the polling. I think we are slowly headed in the right direction and I think President Obama can lead this country out of this hole we are in.
I would not characterize the diplomatic efforts of the president as bending over for world leaders who want us destroyed. Yes I know he bowed his head to a saudi leader. It did not bother me and seemed as a simple sign of respect to the leader of anotther country. He did not subjugate himself or praise in an overt manor.
The sky is falling the sky is falling.
