Never heard the Canadian thing........so it certainly is not mainstream, not even 1st tier of the conspiracy theories.

Those are:
The Israelis
The Bushes (GW's brother Marvin Bush WAS in charge of security at the World Trade Center)
Etc. Etc.

I think the rumours started when sometime AFTER 9/11...some terrorists were captured as they TRIED to cross the border out in Washington State. Seems like McCain is as clueless as Napolitano on this. Even if they had come through Canada...are we now asking Canada to stop people who had been GRANTED US Visas? Duh!

The Millennium Bomber DID come through Canada, WAS armed with intent, and WAS welcomed into Canada by that well meaning but far too liberal country.

Canada is a great place. A great country. They ask very little of anyone and are disliked by almost no one.

But Canada is not America. When we were attacked we asked other countries, especially those who harbor terrorists, to join with us in the fight. When some refused, like France, we brought pressure. They resented our pressure and continued doing business with any country they wanted to deal with. Like Iraq.

We understand that Canada does not want to wall itself off from the rest of the world simply because they have an open border with The U.S. And I don't believe The U.S. will ever ask Canada to do that. But we have learned to be a little suspicious of non-anglo's entering The U.S. through Canada.

We are not suspicious, however, of any of the Canadian comedians and actors who have come down, so keep sending us your funny guys. And singers.

Given that we do vast amounts of business with Russia (supplied all Iran nuclear stuff), China (same idea), Pakistan, the Saudis and many others.....I can't see how we can lead the way in this matter....

Same with those drug-running, terrorists, swine flu Mexicans? Oh, canadians too.

That has been the problem with our foreign policy, especially as of late. We talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. Pakistan is working out really good.....after we gave them billions it looks like they may end up using them against us or against our allies (India, Afghanistan)......

I'm all for an enlightened foreign policy, but some kind of similar standard must apply.
