Smackdaddy asked:

Hey L&S - did they take the boat cruising much? Or were they just gearing up for the big hop south?
|
Yes, they did. They were gearing up for the Dalmarva race. They were leaving on Saturday. They had a mechanic and a rigger (both of whom we know well) on board on Friday tweaking it. The FBI guys (who were on the boat off and on all day) ordered them off. The mechanic protested and the guys flashed their badges.
That was something else that was odd about this whole thing. Mike, who works at Hartge Yacht Yard, saw these guys about 6:00 A.M. lurking around. He asked them what they were doing. They said it was none of his business. He was firm and said, "Yes, it is my business. I'm going to ask you to leave." (I'm paraphrasing this because I really don't remember exactly what he told me he and they said.) They would not identify themselves. It seems to me that law officers should identify themselves and go about their business rather than stand around and argue.
Later that day - around 3:30 - I stuck my head up out of my boat to see two strangers passing. One had bolt cutters sticking out of a back pocket. The other had several strange bulges under his shirt. Not like guns, more like large, stuffed envelopes. I climbed out of my boat and followed them down the dock where one started taking pictures of the MALO while the other climbed aboard.
I said, "Excuse me, can we help you?" The guy taking pix said "No, we don't need any help." More firmly I said, "Who are you and what are you doing?" He said, "You don't need to know. It's not your business." I answered, "It is my business. I live here, I work here. The people who own this boat are friends of mine and you don't belong on there." He responded, "We cleared this with the office." I said, "Whom did you talk to?" He said, "Luke." I said, "Luke is no longer in the office." Did you talk to the marina office. He said, "Yes." "And you have permission to get on this boat?" He said,"Yes." I said, "I'm checking with the office." And I proceeded down the dock. They followed. I checked with the office and they were, as you know, FBI guys.
It seems to me it would have been much easier for them to have just shown me their badges instead of acting suspicious. Whatever happened to the nice polite public servant, Sgt. Friday kind of cop?
On Saturday, a guy whose boat is across the dock from mine told me that Kendall was his cousin. Together, we pulled the Myers' dinghy out of the water and stowed it on deck, concerned that it would get stolen if left in the water; a picture of it having been in the paper along with the information that the owners were incarcerated. He told me that he and Kendall's great grandfather was Alexander Graham Bell. Not pertinent information, but interesting, nonetheless.
Further, they were planning a trip to Maine that they spoke of frequently. We never, ever heard either of them say anything about Cuba, or, for that matter, anything political.

Any attempt to incorporate the Rule of Three's into your project's estimates will result in a further tripling of your original estimate.

She is alot older now - hope the fantasies still have that charm. BTW part of the spy game is the law of percentages. Yes, Cuba is front to alot more out there. The story reaks of the cold age "sleepers". To date no real incarceration less the "I was a spy" , as documentented in news stories and not one real collaborating statement form the govt. - has been told.
BTW, I recommend about two asprins a day and see a medical professional of why you ache - it may be some "limb distress syndrome" (LDS) which is readily treatable by Canadian pharmacies at a fraction of ....

Any man that would find Michelle Pfeiffer somehow deficient due to age is taking more than simple aspirin. The rest of your post points towards some sort of hallucinogenic being the culprit. (g)

Yep. smuggling cigars is exactly equal to CIA agents whose job is in the field of nukes.
OK, so we are to take it that you approved of the outing of a CIA agent, one involved heavily in stopping nuclear proliferation around the world...but yet want to hang some old folks before you have any idea what they did.
I understand now...

More mass moronics....
The couple were not arrested for smuggling cigars.
The CIA agent had no knowledge or experience in the field of nuclear weapons or nuclear power, and may for all we know, have flunked high school chemistry. Her sole contribution towards the effort of stopping nuclear proliferation in Iraq was to suggest the deployment of her husband to Niger as an individual experienced in the region but similarly unknowledgable about matters nuclear himself.
The only thing Ms Pflame was heavily involved with was the shuffling of papers in Langley, Virginia and the pursuit of gainful employment for her unemployable husband, a condition that continues.
We rest no easier knowing that your level of understanding is self-certified.

It will take years to find out the damage done.
