Conservative's vs Liberal's

Subject: FW: Political Polarization Explained

* If a conservative doesn?t like guns, he doesn`t buy one.
* If a liberal doesn't like guns, he feels that no one should have one.

* If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat.
* If a liberal is, he wants to ban all meat products for everyone.

* If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
* A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

* If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
* If a liberal is homosexual, he loudly demands legislated respect.

* If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
* Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

< /div>

* If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
* A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

* If a conservative doesn?t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
* Liberals demand that those they don?t like be shut down.

* If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn?t go to church.
* A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God or religion silenced.

* If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
* A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

Conservative's what v Liberal's what?

The title is as well thought out as the subject matter.

Really? I didn't think there were any conservative homosexuals... ;-)

But I guess what it should read is "If a conservative is homosexual, he leads a quite life, picking up dates in public bathrooms, living in shame, and attempting to pass legislation showing that' he's really not gay."

A conservative is more likely to force/legislate his or her social agenda on others. Conservatism is about conformity.

A liberal stands up for the individual rights to be left alone.

Who truly seeks freedom and independence?

Cool. So we can expect the democrats to stop their attack on people's right to bear arms then?

Hiya Erps,
How goes it on the other side of the PAcific?
I have a question about the right to bear arms in America. I know this is a hot debate and am not getting into it - just would like some clarification:
Isnt your constitution give the right to bear arms for militia to be raised ( back in the revolutionary times) & therefore, not meant to be read as a right of an individual?

Partisan trite....

Republicans simply attack, invent facts, rely on a religious or uninformed mass (both the same thing) and pander to fear. They do not compromise as someone with a different view isn't acknowledged, just attacked.

Oh and I am neither a Liberal or Conservative. They both have positives and negatives.

So just when did President Obama become a conservative?

Greetings St Anna. That was a theory that gained some acceptance in the past few decades but was rejected by the Supreme Court last summer in a Washington D.C. gun case when the courts ruled that it is an individual right that the people already had and that the framers of the constitution protected in our bill of rights.
