MIKEMCKEE will become famous soon enough
Thought for the day

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Obama's health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it and whose members will be exempt from it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that is broke.

How could it possibley go wrong.

And as bad as you make it out, although patently fear mongering with little truth, it is a far better job than that done by the right.

Progress can be especially painful when certain members of our society only wish the country to fail. Those of us that are more realistic and progressive will tolerate and move the country to a better place...

My question is, why is it that the right are so intent on seeing our country fail? I thought they loved it so much?

I will tell you why! If you want to insure the uninsured, great do it. Put them all in a plan let them pay the cost for it. But I ask you why should it change my insurance?

Okay. Where--exactly--was there 'little truth' in the original post?

Once again...

Ataully, there is little truth at all in it, it is mostly speculative - what might happen.

"Written by a committee member..." the final plan has not been written yet; it will likely be written in conference; I don't believe the Senate Finance Charman, who led the writing of the bill, ever said he did not understand it; it was written with an attempt toward bipartisanship.

"Congress that hasn't read it" there are 4 prospective bills emerging and I am sure most congressmen will read them and/or the final bill. Speculative.

"..members exempt from..." not true in any of the 4 bills being considered. Please provide reference.

"signed by a president that smokes..." he has not signed anything yet, but he does smoke.

"a treasury chief who did not pay taxes..." it is true that he owed back taxes which he admitted, apologized and paid. However, he was appointed to the Fed Reserve NY and undersecretary under the Bush administration, so why did they not properly vett him?

" SG that is obese.." well, she is full-figured, but not sure it is relevant

" financed by a country that is broke.." true there, thanks to the right wing nuts that ran this country into the dirt and left it needing a serious overhaul.

So do you vote for "speculative." I have a bridge for sail.
