Perhaps, since you're on a roll, you could relate all the "lies" that Fox News has aired?

Dirtboy (good name), if Fox isn't a "real" (read liberal) news outlet, why did the other news outlets refuse to attend briefings without them? Why did Bambam and his lackies surrender their battle and come back for airtime? Why is Fox crushing the competition in cable news?
If only we were all as enlightened and progressive as you.....
Barack Obama, he's not a real leader, he just plays one on TV.

That's too easy, Dirtboy. The handsdown champion of inept public speakers was Lyndon B. Johnson. At that time, he often read his televised addresses to the nation from typed pages. I saw him get his pages mixed up, and he began re-reading a page that he had just read. After re-reading about half a page, it suddenly dawned on him that the words sounded familiar, and an embarrassed smile crept across his face. His dilemma then was whether to stop and get his pages straightened out, or to continue as if nothing had happened, in the vain hope that nobody was listening. As I recall, he chose the latter course.
In those days, politicians weren't bludgeoned for years afterwards when they made a speaking gaffe. People understood that politicians are mere humans, with all the usual human frailties, and that anyone can make such mistakes, and that such mistakes have nothing to do with one's competence to serve as President. It was considered a cheap shot and dirty politics to dwell on such mistakes for more than a day or two, after which time the discussion reverted to more substantive issues. Democrats have refined gotcha politics to an art, and, unfortunately, Republicans are learning how to play the game as well.
It's too bad we have to listen to so much sillyness, while our representatives insist on passing legislation without adequate discussion and debate, that nobody has read. Anyone who plays the gotcha game ought to be ashamed of the harm they do to intelligent discourse.

Good point Sailormon.
I might add a pet peeve of mine concerning news interviews and the Sunday shows (Meet the Press, Face the Nation, etc.) And this is also a non-partisan (mostly) thing. The host asks a question, the interviewee gives a spin answer, and the host never calls them on it. Thus, it's given the appearance of accuracy, when both host and interviewee know it's nothing but rhetoric.

Dang Saliormon...that is very nicely put indeed.
We wonder why we still have a racial problem in this country or the world for that matter...its because we have never gained a true love , appreciation, or forgiveness toward our fellow man attitude....whatever you want to call it.
Most of us are rabid dogs ready to pounce and dissect each other over the silliest things just to feel Superior.
Until we find that attitude and more apply put it into practice we will eculate to possibly to the point of 50 states under different flags.

Yer welcome.
Sorry to stir the pot so much ( but that is what this thread is all about) I actually was very politicaly active in the 60's and am leaving it to you young guys to figure out were we're gonna go from here. I'm prolly not as informed as most of you, I spend most of my time thinking about sex, motorcycles and sailboats. (man I want a new RSV4 sooooo bad)
Yep, I agree that substance isn't as important today, can't really lay it all on the Dems. I mean, not much substance with Sarah Palin but she's sure got a lot of attention.
I have been around long enough to realize when someone is getting dumped on and I'm gonna call it like I see it.
Fox news ...... how 'bout the birth certificate non-story they ran for weeks. Really, would the "in's" run against someone they hadn't checked out 100%? If they could have squashed his bid early they sure would have. Gimme a break.
Ha Ha, ya got me on LBJ, but at least he made no pretext at anything but reading his speach.
I have no personal grudge toward George W. Bush, I think he did his best and he did what his god told him to do. I think he's an honorable man, it's a shame he was such a lousy president.
Feel the same about Carter. I really like Carter but was very disapointed with his presidency. It'd be great to see GWB get involved with something positive, like Carter has.
Peace out guys; open, honest, disagrement is a healthy sign of life.

Both are politicians, both suck in their own ways.
How do you know a politician is lying? If his lips are moving!
This is why we need a viable third party or independent candidate. The republicans are in the pocket of big insurance and big oil, the democrats are in the pocket of labor and trial attorneys. Nobody is interested in being in the pocket of the American people and our best interests!
As long as we keep supporting either of these corrupt parties we will keep getting what we always get.

You got that right!
Democrats and Republicans are the problem not the solution.
