I'll start out by telling you how I feel.

She said a lame duck is like old fish and should be disposed of right away. Huh. I'd think a lame duck could get a lot more done (for the people who elected him/her) if they stayed in office. With no pretext to re-election a lame duck can be more independent, more rogue (if you will) and less accountable as re-election isn't an issue. I think she craped all over the people who elected her to office and abandoned them with little concern.

What do you think?

This is about the only political view point i have ever agreed with you on DB.

I feel she was a horrible choice for VP and a worse one for even consideration for Commander and chief.

Likable? You bet...Devote to her Family? You bet..Devoted to her elected position...evidently not.

Very disappointing talking to my relatives living in Alaska whom liked her as well.

No she ruined one presidential campaign lets not make it two.

And FWIW few are more conservative the I am.

My understanding of the situation is that the complete dissection of her by the left and the ensuing non-stop attacks and investigations and lawsuits from the left were forcing her to take a great deal of time away from the people's business just to deal with them. She decided that her "lightning rod" status was actually hurting her constituency and that stepping aside would allow her replacement to continue her policies without all the distractions. I think it was a selfless act on her part.

I think McCain's campaign was dead on arrival and she gained him more votes than she lost him.

I appreciate her speaking out for conservative principles and for trying to shine a light on the cockroaches who are currently running our country (into the ground).

She has become such a polarizing figure that I don't think I want her to run in 2012, however I do believe that she would be a better President than the current one who hates America and everything it stands for. I think she might do more good outside the beltway in promoting the conservative message.

She'd look great on a postage stamp.

Mike

Thanks for your open and honest replies.

I aslo have relatives in Alaska but, like me, they were never onboard with her. Two of 'em are her neighbors in Wasilla.

The religon thing bothers me. I'm not anti religon by any means (also not a believer either) but I think she would put her religous convictions before the constitution. The founding fathers were very wise to the politics of religon.

She is in a prime position to split the republican party. Lot's of people like Stillraining out there who have consertive values but won't vote for such a shallow individual.

It's gonna be interesting!

Could be, although she's not the first believer in office. Is your opinion that she would not abide by the oath of office based on some evidence or your own faith?

It does seem as if the Repubs are arguing with each other a lot - and Palin seems to be the favorite of the more conservative republs. Arguing with themselves is what parties who have just lost do. The dems had their phase of doing this after Bush won. Now the Repubs are doing it as they try to figure out how to start winning again. Personally, I dont think more conservative positions will win a bigger percent of the population since the repubs already have pretty much all the conservatives. But hey, as a dem I am happy to see them argue with each other. Take Crist in Florida. he is a very popular repub governor and should win the senate seat in a walk if they nominate him. But the right wing of the repubs doesnt like him so they are trying to beat him with a guy that may well lose to the dems. Here's to Palin!

it's what parties that have just won do too. Do you need examples or can we leave it at that?

You have a point. Its what dems ALWAYS do. But it does seem to me the repubs dont argue when they are in the drivers seat - they are far more of a block than the dems ever are which makes it all the more noticeable when they are fighting like they are now. This type of fighting is something the dems dont do very much of - we rarely fight for purity since we never had any to begin with. The only exception I can think of is the primary that Lieberman lost a couple of years ago

Religion is just another form of ideology. I would imagine that you have no problem with the current President putting his Liberal ideology and convictions ahead of the Constitution.

Perhaps then you could detail where she put religion first as Governor? And could you tell us, where you read her account of her religious convictions, as opposed to what other people say they are?
