Is shovel control next for Canada?

'They're destroying my garden,' says man charged with attacking raccoons - thestar.com

Will you soon need to register your shovel in Canada? Keep them under lock and key? Have a 3 day waiting period to purchase one? Will shovel training be necessary? Will qualified individuals be able to apply for concealed carry permits?

Assault shovels

I read that only "assault shovels" will be band. The ones with a pointy end or very sharp. The flat ones and snow shovels will still be sold. When a government official was told that either one was equally deadly, he said, "That doesn't matter, the assault ones look more dangerous. Even though it won't help, we must do something to end this carnage."

Yes it is funny but this IS the direction we are headed unless we can instill some common sense usage in our house very soon.

I got two, unregistered ones. New in box. Gerber folding nylon handle models. Easily concealed. Will make you a special price.

Time for a reality check everyone

The guy was beating on a raccoon because he was pissed at it, it is called animal torture. Use a gun, a shovel, your fists or a car, bottom line is the guy snapped and beat an animal, a baby animal at that.
Do you really want to hitch the "what about my right to bear arms" mantra to this story?.
Sure nature is cruel we all have to eat, this guy wasn't looking for dinner He needs help, jail time, and a ban from owning pets IMHO.
Not every thing is about gun control. With that said the right wing of sailnet OT will be happy to hear Canada has taken a step in the right direction where gun control is concerned, assuming you think less control is a good thing.

Our long gun registry program is about to bite the dust, after Harper's majority win.

But, but, but... how can we express our righteous indignation if you keep bringing facts into it? Reality is biased I tells ya!
