The curious dichotomy

Now that the "famed" darlings of the Left, the "lesbian bloggers" have been "outed" as a couple of middle age white guys, it brings to mind the many instances of how easily the Left falls for any "story" that fits their ideologue.

Whether it's compelling books of "fact", that prove to be fiction. Gripping news stories that don't exist. Or gross mischaracterizations of opposing opinions (please note, I said gross. I don't pretend there aren't mischaracterizations from the right as well, they just usually have some basis in fact.) There seems to be no lack of those who choose a good story over reality.

Though, no doubt, there is, somewhere on the right, similar cases, I'm at a loss to recount any conservatives being fired for plagiarism, having their non-fiction exposed as wishful thinking, or making characterizations from whole cloth, to "further the cause".

Should be interesting to get home from work tonight and see all "examples" that prove me wrong.

Um, hands up here anyone that actually KNEW about these two blogs, let alone followed them or believed them to be written by lesbians? Yeah, same here, hadn't heard jack-sh%t about them until the revelations they were not who I didn't know they were in the first place.

So much for them "famed darlings of the Left". PBzeer will believe anything

Sorry, PBzeer will believe anything so long as it is on his side of politics. Feel better we've corrected that.

Well, that's because you don't get fired for that at Fox News. Those are pre-requisites for promotion.

Tide comes in, tide goes out. Never a miscommunication. Go on explain it!

While I'm sure some people will indulge your outrage mining, one only needs to use Google to locate three interesting examples I can personally remember (and that's without leaving the first page). Looks more like your usual practice of getting bored and trying to stir up some left-wing resentment. Might work better if anyone had ever heard of these guys/gals/whatever before

An even more curious dichotomy is the differential in moral outrage by the WRW regarding the criminal actions of Vitter, on the one hand, versus the stupid, but apparently legal, actions of Weiner, on the other. Curious, and telling.

Hey, here's a crazy idea- instead of focusing all the energy on pointing out what the other side has done wrong, how about pointing out what your side has done RIGHT. If you can't, then maybe you should think about what side you are on.
Or we can all go on stretching the truth , confusing opinion with fact, making oily insinuations with a loose grip on reality and a tenuous knowledge of the facts, and devote 90% of our posts on a SAILING site toward POLITICS.

And you wonder why Palin will not get elected?

That would be all well and good bl, but, it's still a matter of opinion on what is "right". For instance, I could say that the GOP has, for the most part, held true to the promises they made at the mid-term election. While others could say, that's the problem.

While the most noticeable effect of politics on sailing is anchoring rights, things like taxes can take a chunk of your boat money. And policies that spur inflation or stall the economy, can equally have an affect on your amount of boat time and bucks.

As I'm still 4 - 8 months away from getting back out cruising and have no boat issues to deal with at present, my amount of "sailing" related post is much smaller than when I am cruising. I comment when I have something worthwhile to add, but enjoy discussing politics.

PB - Does this mean you are really a lesbian and not a middle aged white guy?

90% of your posts don't have to be in P/R/W/G, bl. You also have to option of bypassing this sub-forum at the click of a button. Why make an issue of this?

Wow, that's desperate.

Well, it was interesting, in so far as not one reply refuting my original premise.

Again, your consistency is astounding PBzeer. Not only did I reply to your premise (so far no-one as even acknowledged knowing let alone believing or respecting the two bloggers nor do I suspect you did even a cursory Google search), but your subject-matter pedantry is coming to the fore again. And only a day since you complained about that being brought up
