We arrived back in Vancouver last night from Puerto Montt, Chile just in time to help celebrate our country's birthday. It is so wonderful to be back in civilization again for a short break in our nearly two years of third-world living. What we now more than ever realize is how tremendously fortunate and privileged we are to call Canada home. Happy Birthday, Canada!

Happy Birthday to our good neighbors to the North! Last year on Canada Day we went and sang "Oh Canada" to our Canadian friends and neighbors a few houses down the beach. Their kids were all wearing hockey jerseys and as soon as we started singing everyone joined in. We even ended up singing it in French (after several toasts to the Queen, the inventor of hockey, maple syrup, etc). Happy Birthday Canada!

Absolutely. A belated HB Canada from your antipodean counterparts.
