Wishful thinking
I wish all this talk actually changed things for the better.
I vote for a government program that would keep all the tyrranist's, irrespective of what name they vote under, from creating, voting, etc... any bill that hurts the American Public, and is counter productive to the Constitution of the United States of America!

Well... hmm..
My wish of the outcome of all this talk (collectively I mean, the national dialogue) would be the mass pursuit of peace, justice and the pursuit of knowledge to be applied for noble purposes.

Actually they all take this oath;
I, [member's name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
So in essence they all swear that they will support the constitution however very few actually pay more then lip service after they get sworn to office.. Such a shame.

Could always start with term limits.

Would that stimulate their conscience to be not so corrupt?

Nope, just not give them as much of a chance, and limit what they did do.

I've thought about term limits a lot. Problem is that if we remove lawmakers from office on a schedule, then the bureaucrats who sit in office forever (unelected) become more powerful than congress. It's a real double edge sword. I think instead we might be better off finding a way to reduce the "perks" of the job without chasing off smart people who would otherwise serve. It makes me mad to see the net worth of some of our congressmen and senators go through the roof while they're supposed to be serving us. You just have to know that a big chunk of it comes from pure corruption plain and simple.
