The COWBOY Solution to save Gasoline
A webb article I thought was worth while to read.....
OBAMA wants us to cut the amount of gasoline we use.....
The best way to stop using so much gasoline is to deport 15 million illegal immigrants!
That would be 15 million less people using our gas.
The price of gas would come down.....
Bring our troops home from Afghanistan to guard the borders....
When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the Border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Afghanistan ....
Tell him if he wants to come to AMERICA then he must serve a tour in OUR military....
Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it......
After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country.....
He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal resident.....
This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Afghanistan and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. .......
If they refuse to serve, ship them to Afghanistan anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.
Problem solved.....

For what it's worth, I say, "Have at him." (Just don't blame the late great George Carlin.)

So you picked up on that eh Slow ?
Bent, I care not what action is taken as long as its within the rules.
Ref the piece, of course its not original, hell the original didn't even have Obama as the President and the war was Iraq.
Interestingly enough I wonder if old George might not have been on to something and a something that the illegals would jump at. Why not ? A tour of duty in Afghanistan in exchange for citizenship ? Americans of Mexican descent have served with honour in the the US military and their list of boxing champions does not suggest they are lacking in spunk. Mind you whether the US military could actually afford 15 million new recruits might just be open to question.

And then there is the fact that not every illegal alien is fit for duty, old enough for duty, or would make the macho men comfortable in their foxhole (Mexicans have gay people as well ).
Whilst I'm sure there are a few red-necks chortling into their piss-weak American beer over the email copied above, I reckon they'd probably cr@p themselves were anyone to actually provide that mechanism for illegal aliens to become citizens. As the fuzzy marsupial pointed out, Mexicans aren't afraid of fighting and they are demonstrably not afraid of hard-work. A guaranteed wage (above what they're earning now) and guaranteed citizenship status afterward; I'm sure there'd be a tonne who'd leap at the idea.
I can imagine if the idea of "service for citizenship" were put forward, the outcry from the right-wing blowhards would be able to power wind-farms for a generation. After all, once the idea is out there, how long do you think it would take for the question "I fought for America before I even was American - what have you done?" was asked of them?

Mike, Mike, Mike,
What can anyone say? I earned my citizenship after a tour in Vietnam. (I doubt you ever served your country) and along the way learned the true meaning of bigots and rednecks.

I don't know who to credit for the following but it seems appropriate in this case...
I refuse to engage in an intellectual battle with an unarmed man
And I mean all this in the nicest possible way.

Thank you for your service Mivelero!
We must remember to love our neighbors, that means what it says.
No hidden meaning. Mexico, Canada are our immediate neighbors.
I have always loved both. Can hardly wait to see Canada!

I served in the Marine Corps with quite a few non-US citizens. I have the utmost respect for them, even if that respect came with a little ribbing (Lcpl Sipko from Poland got a hard time for his very russian sounding name). To a man, those guys worked harder and had more respect for our country than the average Marine.
Lets think for a minute though about how those men became Marines and how you found yourself doing a tour of duty in 'Nam. All of them entered the country legally and then volunteered (yourself possibly excluded from volunteering as there was a draft and I don't know how it applied to aliens, but I suspect you volunteered) to serve the country that they wish to become a part of. In fact, service is one way to help yourself get to the front of the line for citizenship.
The vast majority of illegal aliens we have in the US today have no interest in serving in the military, nor do they want to become citizens unless it's handed to them on a platter. Bent is right, it wouldn't take long for the "what have you done?" question to arise, to which many Americans should just hang their head in shame. But I would bet all the money in the world that long before that question came up, there would be a lot of protests with a lot of Mexican flags, followed by a mass exodus back to Mexico.
As a disclaimer, I would never be a proponent of forcing illegal aliens to serve in the military. Who would want to be defended by a group of people who don't want to defend you, nor have allegiance to the country they're defending?
