I don't blame you for avoiding discussion about the topic of this thread; if he were one of my heros, I too would be embarrassed to talk about him. landmineop, whilst I don't think a single person being a hypocrite makes the entire argument false (be it the right or the left trying to use that tactic), you cannot argue that Joe Walsh is a hypocrite himself.

Does that mean that the Tea Party's arguments as a whole are invalid? No. I believe they are completely offbase with their ideology, but Joe Walsh doesn't prove that. Does Joe's hypocrisy demonstrate that he does not believe in what he is saying? Yes, it does.

A man truly believing in what he says would act accordingly - that he does not demonstrates that at least one of the people holding up the debt ceiling rise (and it's going to happen even if the Republicans get everything they want) is doing so for less than pure intentions. Trying to change the subject won't make that any less true.

Uhhh...If Larry ODonnell and Joe Walsh are having a conversation, and I need to choose whose commentary to believe, how do I do that? I guess I could watch them for amusement. But any amusement I feel generally, and shortly, turns to disgust.

I am glad I don't need to choose which of them to believe. I ignore them both. There as SO many other ways to waste my time, or even use it constructively.
