I've always wanted to serve on a Jury. I've been called twice, once for Civil court which was settled on the courthouse steps (apparently most are) and once for Criminal which turned out to be the Air India terrorism trial (329 dead) the biggest mass murder in Canadian history.
They shrewdly opted for trial by judge only and so, this being Canada, they got off. It would have been quite an experience, even though it was supposed to take a year. I would have made out like a bandit financially because I still would have drawn my salary and I would have been able to keep the jury pay as well. I don't know if I would have been selected though if they asked me if I could keep an open mind - those scum were guilty as hell and everyone knew it. Only the judges legal nitpicking about trivialities like witness credibility got them off - a jury would have convicted for sure, especially if I was on it!
