I once read that the selection process for police officers is concentrated in a very narrow band of I.Q's - too stupid is obviously bad but too smart has a downside because they can't handle long, boring stakeouts and suchlike. If they are unable to make this connection, it looks like there might be some truth to it.

I like this explanation. It makes sense.

That explains why the can't make the connection that there is nothing wrong with cannabis, it's actually good for you.
