having to explain myself to you gets so tiresome. but onward we go. it was the the psychiatrists who determined that homosexuality is not a choice. hence the term "it's ok to be gay". that, i consider fact. some are born homosexual and there is nothing can be done to change it. but some of this same group (psychiatrists) seem to think pedophilia is the same. while this may be true, i cannot and will not accept the path in which they are trying to take this matter....
accuse me of being homophobic all you want, you will be wrong every time you do. homophobes do not share the same views and opinions and beliefs i do. go get yer panties in a wad somewhere else, bent. there are different ways of asking for an explanation than personally attacking one in this forum and in life period......

What a crock of sh*t, ssneade.
See, the psychiatrists that showed homosexuality to not be a choice were the majority of the American Psychiatric Association. The same organisation that, according to the very article you reference, "evidently does not condone the group's message". The group pushing for reconsideration of paedophilia are a separate and distinct group called B4U-Act. Or, if you can wrap your brain around it, a completely separate and distinct organisation that had anything to do with making "it ok to be gay".
No-one here is dumb enough to buy your bullsh*t story that you were referring to something good done by psychiatrists before following up with something utterly disgusting. There was no more need to talk about homosexuality than there was OCD, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder. We all know why you brought it up and we can see it for as the dog-whistle that was intended.
Oh, and in case it slipped by you, I'm neither the only to call you on your bullsh*t nor the first. Pretend I'm the only one if it makes you feel better, perhaps because it's less tiresome than knowing everyone can see your pathetic equivocation for what it is and not what you're now pretending it to be.
Face it ssneade, you f#cked up and no-one is buying your drivelling excuses now you are called on it. You were too clear the first time around to try changing context now.

oh, i'm cut to the quick. i don't know how i'll ever be able to go on. they're psychiatrists nonetheless. apparently we'll just have to agree to disagree. i'm not backing down on my op. it's the plain and simple truth and if you don't like it, you know where the ignore button is. i'm not gonna continue to cowtow to your wishes that somehow i'll see things the way you do. there's a lot of things we agree on. and there's a lot of things we disagree on. this subject tends to be the latter.....
would appreciate it if you'd tone down the personal sheot just a little. you're just gettin' worked up over nothing....
btw, you should use spellcheck more often. or is illiteracy your style?....

Haven't the views of the mental health profession evolved over the past 100 years on what constitutes sexual deviancy? Is there any reason to believe that the views will not continue to evolve? Something that is considered deviant behavior today, may not be considered deviant behavior 50 years from now.

Ssneade ol' buddy - that's not a taunt YOU should throw around.

I expect you are absolutely correct but I doubt that we will EVER accept baby rapers not being classed as the worst deviants - I think we would do away with the psychiatric profession first.
Since the victims of baby rapers very frequently BECOME the same thing, it seems unlikely that genetics will ever be found to be at the root of that deviance. And even if it is, they STILL should be put down, or have we lost our instinct for self preservation and survival?

I thought by now you could tell I couldn't care less how you feel about things personally. I'm sure you think a post can be judged on how "cut" someone is by your remarks, but I judge it on the factual content... which of course, tends to mean your posts rate pretty low.

Yes, and the KKK are Christians - so I guess we can say "from the people that brought you Catholicism, we have the killing of black people in Southern USA"... oh wait, that doesn't work

Exactly, you're an unabashed bigot. Never said you were otherwise. In fact, I was calling you on your bullsh*t when you tried to spin it as if you weren't. That you cannot decide if you'll stand by your bigotry from post to post pretty much shows you know it's unacceptable

When people equate my family with pedophiles, that's already personal. You want to "tone down the personal sheot just a little"? Don't make personal remarks of your own.

In your words "oh, i'm cut to the quick. i don't know how i'll ever be able to go on". Oh wait, no capitalisation - I guess that means illiteracy is your style? Seriously, you're complaining about others on spelling?
BTW, just checked that last post of mine through spellcheck - just for you. Aside from your name and self-censored curse words (to prevent SailNet from censoring them completely) - it passed with flying colours. Just because you & the US can't spell in the Queen's English doesn't mean I cannot or should not

Bent, it ain't just the U.S. - they can't even speak it in ENGLAND anymore, at least not intelligibly. Do you get Coronation Street in Oz? My wife watches it and on the odd occasions when I watch I can only get one word in three - and I lived there for 2 1/2 years! Watching an old British movie is a real eye opener as to how far they have deteriorated in the use of their own language.
It seems none of them nowadays can form a word anywhere forward of the back of their mouths or the top of their throats and their sole remaining superlative is "Brilliant". The upper classes are more intelligible, but even they are deteriorating rapidly. I generally find good ol' boy stock car racers easier to understand.
And just by the by, they don't use English in the States - their language is "Ammurican".
Actually, that's mostly in fun but have you ever noticed that one of God's little ironic jokes is that it is the full and/or semi illiterates that keep the English language alive and growing? If the people who know it and use it correctly had their way all along we'd still be speaking like Shakespeare.

We get the show here, but I can honestly say it'll be a cold day in hell before I sit down to watch midday soaps &/or reality TV. I have a wide variety of more interesting & entertaining ways to occupy my time... like trimming my toe-nails

The sad thing is that a majority of the UK television I have watched eclipses what we produce locally... then again, we export the "Neighbours" soap to the UK - though why they buy/watch it is beyond me.

Not just Britain falling into that linguistic laziness. Should listen to what we colloquially call "Westies" here in Sydney. The syllable "th" becomes "f", the letter "l" becomes "y", and plosives are scattered rarely through-out an utterance... rarely where they should be.

Well aware of that, which is why I don't complain when they spell it "color". That said, being criticised by someone that has trouble typing even their pidgin version of English right is most amusing

Very true. That said, when people will outright claim the dictionary is wrong because they don't want a word to mean what it means - is it any wonder English is going down the toilet?

Sometimes it comes on before I finish my dinner and I have to suffer complainingly through a few minutes of it otherwise I won't even trim my toenails in front of it.

Some are still very good - New Tricks, old Inspector Morse and Inspector Frost but even in them the deterioration of the speech is noticeable and annoying. We've had some Ozzie shows her that weren't bad - one about marine cops was pretty good.

Actually that bodes worse for sociopolitics than the language I think. That actually concerns me less, as long as I can understand them I can dismiss them but if their enunciation and diction are so bad they might as well be speaking a foreign language, then we're really screwed.
