Exactly - and that is where so many voters fall down - they listen to the campaign doublespeak and have no memory of history. Of course, even if you do know the history, sometimes you have to take a flyer when one has an unacceptable track record and the other has none. People DO change as well - even George Wallace came to realize that racism was wrong for example.
