1) Yes it does. For the questioner to have "forgotten" where he was one needs to believe he didn't want the crowd to look like a macabre bunch of yahoos. Given your belief he was a liberal biased phony, he seemed to get exactly the kind of response that made the Tea Party look bad... or have you missed the overall response by people to the "Let him die!" response?
2) "Pereption" spelling issues aside, I think he did exactly what one should regarding a policy - question the candidate on the consequences of their claims to see if they will live up to them. Ron Paul would not support just letting someone die, though he tried dodging an outright response on the matter. The crowd, however, lacked even that sense of preservation. "Liberal biased phony" or otherwise, the interviewer was able to engender a response that is still being talked about today - sounds like he did a good job at getting a pertinent response to me
